What's newin version 1.51.1
The biggest Kitch update yet.
NEW
• Sign in with Apple or Google.
• Nothing planned tonight? Dinner ideas at the top of your Feed, planned in one tap, plus an optional 4 PM pick that fits your diet.
• Cook with what you have: type or snap your ingredients, get recipes ranked by what's in your kitchen, and star the ones you need to use up.
• Bites: short recipe videos to post, watch, and cook from.
• See how a recipe turned out for other cooks, and pin your own photos to its steps.
• Tell Kitch what tools you own, see what each recipe needs, then filter by cleanup or sort by fewest dishes.
• Metric or imperial, everywhere: recipes, directions, and shopping lists.
• Private accounts with follow requests, and visibility you set per recipe.
• Tap a recipe's source or author to browse everything they've shared, or search by site or author.
BETTER
• Getting started: a step-by-step setup for your diet (allergies included), health goals, units, and kitchen, ending with a recipe in hand.
• Adding recipes: import any link from Add a Recipe, speak a recipe out loud, or show Ask AI a photo. Imports run in a floating bubble, and shared links queue up.
• Posting: several clips per post, edit each photo or clip as you attach it, tag the recipes you cooked, and unfinished posts are kept for later.
• Cookbooks get descriptions and cover photos, you can follow someone else's, and a shared cookbook link now opens the cookbook.
• Cooking mode: countdown timers you can trust, a Clock-style timer picker, a clearer Lock Screen view, and a timer bubble you can drag anywhere.
• Planning and shopping: open a plan someone shares with you, check off a shared list together, and filter meal prep by meal.
• A cleaner look with Kitch's own icons, calmer backgrounds, and dark mode that follows your device. iPad uses the full screen, with a larger-text option.
• Report a bug in two taps from any screen.
FIXED
• Notifications open the right screen and are marked as read.
• Sign-up says when a phone number is already in use, and a comment that can't be posted says why.
• Shopping check-offs no longer get lost, and an import that times out is picked up instead of asking you to import it again.
• Deleting your account removes everything, right away.
• Faster launch, a much smaller download, and unfinished work survives interruptions.
