What's New in 1.3.6 • Feel now describes each piece's character rather than its key, and every piece has one, including the 153 added in 1.3.5. For example, the Minute Waltz is now Playful and Energetic instead of Peaceful, and Catacombs is Mysterious. • The Feel filter offers nine choices, from calm to intense: Peaceful, Tender, Joyful, Playful, Energetic, Majestic, Dramatic, Melancholic and Mysterious. Romantic is now Tender, since Romantic is an era. • Brahms, Debussy, Fauré, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Verdi and eight more join the Composer filter, which now lists every composer with four or more pieces in alphabetical order. • Browsing stays fast: changing filters no longer slows down the longer the app is open, and resizing the window is smoother. A new filter now starts the list at the top. • Tiles side by side are now the same height, so their Play buttons line up. • On Mac, tiles, difficulty buttons and playback controls light up under the pointer. • The Hide songs with no PDF & no MIDI switch is gone, since every piece now has both. • A brighter app icon. What's New in 1.3.5 • 153 new pieces, including all three movements of the Moonlight Sonata, Satie's Gymnopédies, Schubert's Impromptus, Chopin's Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2 and Bach's Goldberg Variations. The library now has 814 pieces. • Every piece now has its sheet music and a piano preview. More than 100 pieces were missing them, and some showed only a title page, stopped early or played the wrong movement. • Difficulty now follows the piano exam grades: Novice is before Grade 1, Beginner is Grades 1–3, Intermediate is Grades 4–6 and Advanced is Grade 7 and up. Pieces right between two levels show both. • Difficulty buttons always show their color: outlined when off, filled when on. • Tempo now follows the composer's own marking, so the Minute Waltz is Vivace and the Moonlight Sonata's finale is Presto. The Tempo filter now runs from slowest to fastest. • Color now describes the key: Bright for major, Dark for minor. • A new Instrumentation filter finds solo piano pieces, piano duets, songs with voice or choir, and pieces with other instruments. Pieces that aren't for solo piano show their instruments on the tile. • Classical is now split by era into Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern. • Every piece now has a date. When the exact year isn't known, the date is shown as researched, such as c. 1715–1720 or 18th century. • Cleaner titles and composer names, and duplicate pieces merged. Favorites and repertoire on a merged piece are kept. Diabelli and Mussorgsky join the Composer filter. • A new walkthrough introduces the app on first launch. See it again any time from How It Works in Settings, or from the Help menu on Mac. • Pieces without a PDF now explain how to find them in your own sheet music book. • The app is now named Sheet Music Finder on the Home Screen and in the Mac menu bar and Dock, and the Mac window opens larger. • A smaller download, even with the new pieces.

Read, listen, and play • Open clean PDF sheet music directly in the app • Preview any piece with built-in MIDI playback • Save favorites and build your personal repertoire • Print or share scores directly from the app • Use auto-scroll on iPhone to follow the music hands-free The collection 814 pieces across Classical, Étude, March, Ragtime, Folk, Hymn, Opera/Aria, Ballet, and Programmatic genres. Composers include Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, Joplin, Satie, and more. Difficulty ranges from Novice to Advanced. Available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. How it started Sheet Music Finder was built as a university level educational discovery tool first. The original goal was simple: browse classical piano repertoire by feel, skill level, and style, then take that shortlist to a physical book or continue searching online. That remains the heart of the app. Over the course of development, a catalogue of PDF scores and MIDI versions grew from nothing to cover over 814 pieces — but finding the right piece to learn is still what the app is designed for. The iPhone version exists for the same reason — to let you browse and shortlist pieces wherever you are, ready to revisit on iPad or Mac later. That said, we've done our best to make the iPhone experience stand on its own, with auto-scroll and display controls designed for the smaller screen. Privacy you can verify.
