“In the morning, when you don’t feel like getting up, let the thought be ready: ‘I am getting up to do a man’s work’” — Marcus Aurelius. Modern mornings often start with chaos: we open our eyes and immediately give our minds over to the hustle and bustle, news, and other people’s problems. We lose the day even before we get out of bed. We present “Morning Reflection” — a digital threshold for a mindful start to your day. This is not a habit tracker and not a to‑do list. This is an ancient stoic practice of mind attunement, relevant at all times. In this update, we have deliberately abandoned gamification, streaks, and guilt-inducing notifications. The whole will remains in your hands. Morning Meditation consists of two steps: 1. You receive the Rule of the Day, the Ancient Precept, which serves as a tuning fork for your mind. 2. You choose a Role — the answer to the question "Who will I be today?". Will you be the Father today, the Master of your craft, or the Bearer of Loss? Your Role will stay with you until evening as a quiet anchor of awareness, helping you make the right decisions, and in the evening, during the Trial, we will ask: was it played well? Reclaim your morning. Upgrade Aurelius and start the day consciously.
"Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be one." — Marcus Aurelius, X.16 Aurelius is not a mood tracker or a collection of inspiring quotes. It's an uncompromising tool for daily Askesis. We bring philosophy back into practice so your efforts find their true purpose.
