Four new consoles • Mega Drive / Genesis, Master System, Game Gear and PSP games play in Retro Pal now, and all four are free for everyone. • Saves, save states, achievements and official box art work on all four from the first day, and cheat codes too with Pro. • Two players on the Mega Drive / Genesis and the Master System. The Mega Drive / Genesis has its six-button pad on screen. • Their screenshot and clip cards show the console itself, and with Pro you can make custom skins for all four. The Nintendo 64 • Rewind goes back up to 30 seconds on the Nintendo 64 with Pro, where it stopped at 5. • Nintendo 64 games ask less of the phone: up to 18% less work per frame in Low Power Mode. • Nintendo 64 save states are about ten times smaller than before. Classic • Classic is a look of its own now, in landscape too: a plain black ground, in the palette button. Also • Open a game or a save straight from the Files app or AirDrop, and Retro Pal puts it in the right place. • Touch and hold the Retro Pal icon on your Home Screen to tell us when something is wrong. • When a save state cannot be written, Retro Pal now says so instead of failing in silence. And before a save state is loaded, a copy of the game's own save is kept in the Files app, so an older state can never take a newer save away for good. • The buttons of every console are moulded, with a rim of light and shade. • The Master System, the Game Gear and the PSP each wear their own console, down to the buttons. • With Pro, a tap on Rewind goes back 10 seconds on every console; touch and hold it to pick up to 30. • The Appearance sheet in the pause menu works with a controller: shells, screen filters and every button. • On a game's page, choose Play as Player 2 on consoles with two players or more: you play Player 2, with the touch controls or a controller, and practise against the computer from the other side.
