Version 1.40 is a big update to the holiday information itself. • New app icon • Every holiday now has a proper name and description in your language: about 2,000 holidays were rewritten and fact-checked against official sources in 33 languages. Many were previously missing, left in English, or described the wrong thing • Over 500 regional and substitute holidays that only showed a raw name now have real names and descriptions • Corrected dates in 28 countries, including Lebanon, Namibia, Tunisia, Morocco and Sri Lanka, and removed holidays that have been abolished • Fixed: corrected dates now also reach devices that had downloaded holiday data before
Working with people in other countries? World Holidays tells you whether they are off today — overseas clients, remote colleagues, suppliers, or your branch abroad — and when everyone is back at work. It is just as handy for planning a trip around local holidays. ◆ Is today a good day to reach them? - Work Status shows, for every country you follow, whether today is a public holiday, a weekend, or a normal working day — judged in that country's own time zone - See the local time in each country and the hours when everyone is at work at the same time - Find the next day when every team member is working, so the meeting date you pick actually holds ◆ A holiday calendar for the countries you care about - Pin up to 10 countries and see their holidays side by side with your own, each marked with its flag - Countdown to the next holiday, plus a list of everything coming up in the next 14 days - Get a reminder the day before a holiday in any country you follow - Sync holidays to the iOS Calendar app, so they sit right next to your meetings - Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show your next day off and which countries are celebrating today ◆ Weekends are not the same everywhere - The app knows the weekend is Friday–Saturday in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Israel, Saturday only in Nepal, and so on — business-day counts and long-weekend detection follow each country's rule - Chinese make-up workdays (调休) are marked, so a Saturday that is actually a working day is not mistaken for time off - Holidays whose date depends on the moon or an official announcement are marked as estimated - Show a second calendar in the month grid: the Chinese lunar calendar or the Hijri calendar ◆ More tools - Business-day calculator, long-weekend finder, holiday overlap between countries, holiday rankings, "this day around the world", and shareable holiday cards - Color-coded world map of which countries are on holiday right now ◆ Works offline, in 35 languages - Holiday data for 246 countries and regions is bundled in the app — it works on a plane, at the border, or anywhere without signal - No account required - Localized in 35 languages, with right-to-left support Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
