A log for every spot. Add catches and notes, with photos, from a spot's Log or the "Log a catch" button on the tide card. Each entry keeps the predicted tide, the moon and the bite time for when it happened. After 3 catches, the log shows what they have in common: "4 of 6 on a falling tide, 1 to 3 h after high". Counts, never a forecast. Tell me when it matches. Once a spot's catches share a pattern, turn this on under What works here, and Tideline sends an alert the evening before a day with those conditions, with the times they hold. The alert names the spot; your device's lock-screen settings decide whether that shows while it's locked. Spots by QR code. Show a spot as a QR code, and a mate scans it with Scan a spot in Tideline 1.5 or later: from the map's Add a spot, or My spots. No internet and no link: the spot goes straight from one screen to the other camera. Place only unless you choose to include the notes and fields. A spot scanned in is never saved until you tap Save. A Sunset theme. Under Settings, Appearance, Sunset is light by day and dark from sunset to sunrise at the spot or port you're viewing. Auto, Light and Dark are still there. Back up everything. My spots saves your spots, log and photos to one file you keep where you like, and restores it on any device with Tideline 1.5 or later. Otherwise they stay on your device, with no account, and in its iCloud or computer backup when that's on. Also new since 1.1.7: Fishing spots. Touch and hold the map to save a spot, pick the place with a crosshair, or pin it where you are. Give it an icon, a colour, notes, and fields such as species, best tide, depth and bait, or your own. A spot takes its tides from the nearest port, or one you choose, with today's bite times, sunrise and sunset worked out at the spot. My spots finds them by name, notes or any field. Share them as GPX, for chartplotters and boating apps that read it, or CSV for a spreadsheet, and import GPX or CSV files. Spots stay on your device, with no account, and are included in its iCloud or computer backup when that's on. A light theme. Choose Light, Dark or Auto under Settings, Appearance. Auto follows your device, so if yours is set to light, Tideline now opens light. The offline map follows it too. On iPad, Tideline now sits in a centred column. Notifications rebuilt. The evening summary names the day it describes, with that day's daytime high tide and the launch window around it. King tide and big spring tide alerts come about once a month, the evening before. The bell on a tide sets or cancels a reminder. Each home screen widget can follow the app or show one of your pinned ports: touch and hold it, tap Edit Widget, and choose a Port. Search finds harbours: "kaipara" lists the 12 Kaipara Harbour ports. The map now reaches the Chatham Islands, whose tides are in NZ time: add 45 minutes for Chatham time. Use my location now says why when it can't find you, instead of jumping to Wellington. The map has a full-screen button under its key, and follows your theme, light or dark. Marine reserves and the Hauraki Gulf's protection areas now show on the map, and a spot inside one says so, with a link to DOC's page. Boundaries are a guide.
You're at the ramp at 5am. No signal. Your mate's asking when low tide is. This is exactly what Tideline NZ is for. Accurate tide predictions for 310+ NZ locations, straight from LINZ, all stored offline on your phone with extra's like map, widgets, bite times, launch window and notifications. For less than the price of a bakery pie. No ads. Not one. Not ever. OFFLINE. PROPERLY OFFLINE. A year and more of tide data lives on your phone. The map too, with no tiles downloaded at runtime. Past the Hauraki Gulf. Anchored off the Coromandel. Somewhere in Fiordland with zero bars. Same experience every time. OPENS RIGHT WHERE YOU LEFT OFF Your port stays selected. Pin your regulars so they're one tap away, and stop re-picking your spot every time you open the app. BITE TIMES FOR THE FISHOS Optional solunar bite times on the tide chart: major and minor feeding periods from the moon's position, the same theory behind the tables in the fishing mags. Off by default, one toggle away. A guide, not a promise the snapper agree on. SET YOUR LAUNCH WINDOW Tell the app the minimum depth you need. It shows you exactly when the window opens and how long you've got. Filter upcoming tides by launch window. No more guessing. THE CHART THAT MAKES SENSE Drag across the tide curve to see the exact height at any moment. Know whether you're heading toward high water or away from it before you commit to that ramp. Bite times, spring and neap lines show you the range context at a glance. FIND ANY PORT FAST Search and save your favourite ports, or use your location to find the nearest station, on the map or in the picker. ONE PRICE. NOTHING ELSE. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads watching you check the tide. Buy it once and it's yours, updates included. MAP OF EVERY NZ TIDE STATION See all 310+ tide stations on an offline map. Tap any pin for the next tide at a glance: height, time, countdown, and whether it's rising or falling. Hit "More" for the full picture with sunrise, sunset, and moon phase. STRAIGHT FROM THE SOURCE Predictions are calculated from official LINZ data using the standard tide method, and the app quietly refreshes that data whenever you've got signal. So the numbers you're reading are the ones that should be there, not a stale copy from two years ago. HOME SCREEN WIDGETS Three styles: a minimal next-tide card, an advanced view with progress ring and current height, and a full daily tide list. NOTIFICATIONS Set a reminder before any tide event. Or get a daily evening summary with tomorrow's tides and your launch window. Opt in to king tide and big spring alerts, so the extreme days never sneak up on you. Built for NZ boaties, surfers, anglers, kayakers, and divers. Kaitaia to Bluff. View demo: https://www.sumnerd.co.nz/tideline/ PRIVACY Data does not leave your device and no account is required. Analytics and advertising IDs are not recorded. The app will opportunistically contact sumnerd.co.nz to check for tide data updates from LINZ. That's the only network request it ever makes. Your location is used on-device only to find the nearest tide station. Always happy to improve.
