The Captain's Log grows up, you can report what you saw, and no screen can trap you. CAPTAIN'S LOG • Chapters fold. The log opens on PLAN, RIDE, DEBRIEF and LOG IT, with counters on every card and a READY stamp when you are set to go. • On the Mac and wide iPads the log opens as a desk, with the forecast and your log side by side. • Crew Manifest: pick riders from your roster, add anyone by name, and tap In or Out to check a rider in. No more QR codes. AVALANCHE • Report what you saw. SoGnar Snow drafts it for you and opens your local avalanche center's own observation form. • Observations show as pins on the avalanche map, always on. • A zone pin's sheet carries the door to your log. DEMO CREW • Every install gets a private demo crew to explore: a Captain's Logs shelf and a Crew's Map along a real Wild Basin route. NO DEAD ENDS • Every screen has a way out, the paywall included. On the Mac, sheets clear the top strip. ARCADE • The Pits 1.25.0: THE CALL frames both pits so you can see the second one, every hole is dug on a level pad, the blocks are the instrument, find the layers then pick the problem layer, and the pit card fills in from your logs. • AVALANCHE!!! and MAP DANCIN' 1.12.0: the crown is a cut and the slide breaks apart as it runs. • Red Flags, Hippee Trees and Pro Practice: skis and bindings wear the board ink, plus fixes.
SoGnar Snow is an avalanche forecast, a mountain-weather shelf, a GPS tracker, a map atlas and a route planner for skiers and snowboarders, with an arcade built to teach you snow safety while you wait out a storm. FREE, FOR EVERYONE Avalanche danger ratings for the United States and Europe: every forecast center, every micro-region, plus two full seasons of history you can scrub back through day by day. Mountain weather from NOAA and the nearest SNOTEL station. Three arcade trainers: AVALANCHE!!! companion rescue, Red Flags, and Hippee Trees. Record as many days as you like and keep three of them. Register your board and keep a Captain's Log entry. Own three maps in the Atlas. Ride in two crews with the whole hub, Crew Radar and the monthly leaderboard. No subscription required, and no ads. RIDE Track a day on the hill with lift-aware segmentation, so your distance counts what you earned and not what the chairlift gave you. Every ride replays in 3D. Self-propelled miles pay out in SG Coins. KNOW Avalanche danger from avalanche.org / the National Avalanche Center across the United States, and from 37 European warning services across 705 micro-regions. Rewind two seasons to see what the snowpack did. NOAA forecasts and SNOTEL depth and water-equivalent numbers for the spots you care about. THE ATLAS Bring your CalTopo maps. Export a map from CalTopo (GeoJSON, KML or GPX) and SoGnar draws your zones, lines and markers on its own topo and slope layers, offline, with you on it. Build and edit maps in the app, mark zones AVOID, and hand a map to your students with a code, a link or a QR poster. Maps shared with you never count against your three. THE ARCADE Ten cartridges, made by us, that run right on your device. Three are free to everyone, forever: the teaching cartridges AVALANCHE!!! (companion rescue), Red Flags (reading the snowpack) and Hippee Trees (line choice through trees). The rest run on Coins you earn with your legs, and so does Hippee Trees. No cash value, no wagering, no cash-out. CREWS & COMPETITION Build or join a crew, hoard Stoke Points, and compete on the monthly leaderboard against crews your own size. Champions get their names inked into Ye Stoke Registry of Snow. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS The SoGnar inversion: your recorded activity (distance, routes, everything) is private by default. Crew logs, Crew Radar live positions, and the monthly leaderboards are all opt-in. Nothing leaves your account until you say so. SOGNAR PRO: $1.99/month or $19.99/year Keep every day you ride instead of your first three. Every map you want in the Atlas, route planning with terrain layers and no-go zones, trail discovery, and saved mountains. A third crew and beyond, and Guide Mode operations. Your full quiver and your complete rider record. The rest of the arcade. Free trial on both plans, and an intro price on your first year. Cancel anytime in Settings. Every subscription helps fund student education and snow-based non-profits. Every social surface has Report and Block, reports are reviewed, and repeat offenders are removed. The forecast is a starting point; you control your own risk. SoGnar is not the authoritative source. Always consult your local avalanche center before you go. Every legend starts with first chair.
