New in 1.16 • Lens Clock: a paper dial on a dark desk under a glass lens. Its hour, minute and second discs turn to line the time up under the lens. • Darker nights: after Day Mode ends, backgrounds go much darker and the clock turns a soft amber. Choose Full or Dim with the new Night Brightness setting. • Sunrise alarm: your morning alarm now opens with a full-screen sunrise. • Seasonal backgrounds: special backgrounds for holidays and festivals, with a small notice when one arrives. You keep them after the season ends. • Welcome tour: a short guide for new users to swiping, editing and the sunrise alarm. • Time Together: a new Timeline style. Also improved: • Resizing widgets has snap haptics, a size badge and VoiceOver steps. • Edit mode has a one-line hint, a More menu and an undo countdown. • Still backgrounds now shift slightly over time to protect against burn-in. • Smart Dimming fades the clock and widgets only by day. At night, widgets keep their colors, softened. • The whole app is now dark, including menus, alerts and sheets. Includes fixes for widgets on iOS 17, iPad launch, alarm reliability and gallery labels.
