Your desktop is asleep at home. You're not at home.
Magnova AirLink sends the Wake-on-LAN magic packet that brings a sleeping or powered-down computer back to life. Add your machines once and each one is a single tap away.
On your own Wi-Fi this is free and always will be. From a hotel, an office or mobile data, an AirLink USB plugged in at home carries the wake for you.
NO HARDWARE FOR LOCAL WoL
When your phone is on the same network as the computer, the app does the whole job on its own. Nothing to buy, nothing to plug in. No account, no email address, no subscription.
• Add a computer
• Tap 'Wake' to broadcast a magic packet on the network you're on
• Works with any Wake-on-LAN capable PC, Mac, server or NAS
• No limit on how many computers you add
FROM ANYWHERE, WITH AN AIRLINK USB
An AirLink USB is a small dongle that plugs into any powered USB port on your home network and stays on your Wi-Fi. It does not have to go into the computer you're waking — a monitor, a TV, a router or a phone charger all work fine. When your phone is somewhere else, the app routes the wake through the USB and it puts the packet on your home network.
• One AirLink USB covers every machine on its network
• Plug it in anywhere with power — it doesn't need to be the target computer
• See which USBs are online and when each was last seen
• Let a USB scan its network and fill in a computer's MAC address for you
• Firmware updates install themselves in the background
WHEN WAKE-ON-LAN WON'T COOPERATE - but our app still does!
Some machines simply won't do Wake-on-LAN. The option is buried, missing, or the laptop drops off the network the moment it sleeps. For those, plug an AirLink USB into that computer — the one case where it does need to be in the target machine — and it identifies itself as an ordinary USB keyboard and mouse, then presses a key to wake it. No BIOS menus, no adapter settings, no Wake-on-LAN at all.
This resumes a sleeping computer. Only Wake-on-LAN can start one that's fully powered off.
SET UP IN THREE STEPS
Setup runs over Bluetooth, so there's nothing to type on a computer.
1. Find — the app scans for nearby AirLink USBs
2. Wi-Fi — pick from the networks the USB can see and enter the password
3. Name — call it "Living Room" and you're done
About a minute, start to finish.
WHAT YOU NEED
• A computer that supports Wake-on-LAN, enabled in BIOS/UEFI and in the network adapter's settings. Wired Ethernet is the most reliable. The app walks you through turning it on.
• To wake locally: your phone on the same network, and permission for the app to reach local devices.
• To wake from anywhere: an AirLink USB, sold separately at magnova.com.au, plugged in on that computer's network and joined to a 2.4 GHz band.
• Bluetooth, for setting up an AirLink USB.
PRIVACY
Waking a computer is the whole job. The app has no remote-control feature. A wake sent from outside your network carries the target's MAC address and nothing else, and nothing on your network is exposed to the internet — the USB makes its own outbound connection, so there are no ports to forward and no holes to open.
An AirLink USB acting as a keyboard sends one wake input when you ask for it. It cannot type anything else and cannot read what you type.
