Every day is Kukur Tihar.
Help count and care for Nepal’s street dogs—one photo at a time.
Hamro Kukur is a free, volunteer-run app that turns everyday dog sightings into a shared map. Photograph a street dog, mark where you saw it, and help build a clearer picture of which dogs live where and which need care.
MAKE EVERY DOG COUNT
• Add a dog with a photo and location. Other details are optional.
• Explore dog sightings on the map and view each dog’s history.
• Add new sightings to an existing dog’s record to help reduce duplicate counting.
• Save sightings without an internet connection and upload when you’re back online.
HELP DOGS GET CARE
• Record when you feed a dog.
• Report an injured or sick dog and see dogs marked as needing help.
• Find veterinary clinics, shelters and animal welfare groups, including listings offering free or low-cost care.
• Offer to foster, adopt or help care for dogs.
BUILT FOR NEPAL
Use Hamro Kukur in Nepali or English. Together, our sightings can help volunteers, animal welfare groups and municipalities plan feeding, vaccination and sterilisation efforts.
Free to use, with no ads or in-app purchases. No sign-up form is needed to start counting. Location is used while you use the app, with no background location tracking.
On Kukur Tihar, we honour dogs with garlands and good food. Let’s carry that care into every day.
For urgent veterinary help, contact a clinic or rescue group directly. Submitting a report does not guarantee an emergency response.
Every street dog, seen and counted.
