About this app
CarboZen helps you estimate the carbohydrates and macronutrients of your meals with AI.
Estimating the carbohydrates in a meal isn't always easy, especially when eating out or not knowing the exact ingredients and quantities. CarboZen was created to make this step easier, using artificial intelligence to analyze meals starting from a photograph. **How does it work?** Take a photo of what you're about to eat, or choose one from the gallery. CarboZen analyzes the foods present, estimates the portions, and provides an assessment of the carbohydrates, proteins, fats, and calories. You can also add a description of the meal to provide more information and help the AI interpret it. **Designed for the daily management of type 1 diabetes** In addition to nutritional estimation, CarboZen offers several tools: - **Insulin bolus calculation:** Uses the personal parameters you've set, such as insulin/carbohydrate ratio, sensitivity factor, and target blood glucose. - **Delayed bolus:** For any meal, you can choose to split the bolus over time, using a calculation based on Dr. Andrea Scaramuzza's formula. - **Notifications and reminders:** You can set notifications to remind you to administer your bolus, even when a delayed dose is scheduled. - **Food diary:** Save your meal analyses for later reference. - **Reports and statistics:** Explore your analysis history and view the nutritional information of your meals over time. - **Custom settings:** Configure the parameters based on your needs and the recommendations of your diabetes team. **Free, for everyday use** CarboZen is currently free and allows unlimited daily analyses. Whether it's a home-cooked meal, a pizza at a restaurant, or something you've never eaten before, the goal is always the same: to have some extra information to approach each meal with greater awareness. **Support, not a foolproof answer** Artificial intelligence can make errors, especially when estimating quantities and hidden ingredients. CarboZen's estimates should therefore always be verified. The app does not replace medical advice, the advice of your diabetes doctor, or the personal assessment needed to make treatment decisions.
