About this app
Hide the apps you choose behind a code, on a home screen that looks ordinary.
Oak apple is a home screen launcher that hides apps behind a code you set. It replaces your phone's home screen with an ordinary one, and keeps the apps you choose out of it. WHAT IT IS An everyday launcher: your apps, your wallpaper, folders you name yourself, a search field in the app drawer. It is meant to look like nothing in particular, because that is the point of it. The apps you choose are moved into an Android work profile and taken off the home screen. They are not tucked into a folder or dimmed out. The system reports them as unavailable, so they are absent from the app drawer, from search, from recent apps and from notifications. To reach them you enter a code you set yourself. Leave that space again, and the plain home screen is all there is. SETTING IT UP 1. Make Oak apple your home app. Android asks first, and Android's own setting undoes it whenever you like. 2. Oak apple sets up a work profile on the phone. Nothing leaves the device to do it. 3. Choose the apps that live behind your code. 4. Set your code. Four to eight digits, yours to pick and yours to change. There is a guided walkthrough inside the app for all four steps. WHAT YOU CAN CHANGE - The app's own icon and the name under it - The home screen layout, your folders and what they are called - The app drawer, and whether its search field is shown - 12- or 24-hour clock, and the date on the code pad - The background behind the code pad - Notification badges on icons - Your code, whenever you want PRIVACY No servers. No account. No analytics. Nothing you do in Oak apple is reported anywhere, and what it keeps, it keeps on the phone. It works with no connection at all: nothing waits on the network, and no feature switches off when there is no signal. Two things do involve Google, and both are stated plainly here and in the privacy policy. A banner advertisement appears on the app's own settings screens, served by Google, never on the home screen and never anywhere that could name what you keep private. And a one-time purchase, handled by Google Play, removes it. https://oak-apple.com/privacy.html THE ONE-TIME PURCHASE Free covers the whole of the private space: as many apps as you like, no cap and no trial. The purchase removes the advertisement, and unlocks one further feature: a second code, set by you, which deletes the private space and everything inside it the moment it is entered. That is immediate and cannot be undone, which is deliberate. It stays off until you deliberately set it up, and most people never should. WHAT IT WILL NOT DO It does not hide anything from you. Everything it does, it does to your own phone, at your own instruction. It does not trap you. Android's own home-app setting sits as one row inside Oak apple's settings, so you can hand the home screen back at any time. And if you remove Oak apple, your codes and the record of what you hid go with it, while the apps in the private space stay where they are. Read that screen before you uninstall.
