Your next events on the home screen, and a calendar that gets out of the way.
Your appointments are already on the phone. Agenda puts them where you can see them without opening anything — on the home screen, over your wallpaper — and gives you a calendar for when you need to look properly. THE WIDGET Transparent, no frame: your photo shows through. It lists what is coming, each entry with its time and the colour of the calendar it belongs to. The one about to happen carries a bar that shrinks as the moment approaches: the eleven o'clock meeting does not read like Thursday's, because it is not the same thing. A tap on an event opens it. A tap on the "+" creates one. None of that goes through a menu. THREE WAYS TO LOOK AT THE SAME MONTH • Month — the whole grid, a dot on the days that have something, and below it the list for the day you tapped. • Week — hours down the side, events in their place. Overlapping ones share the width instead of covering each other, and the week opens at the hour you are in. • Agenda — only what is ahead, one line after another, no grid at all. CREATING AND EDITING • Title, place, notes, all day or eleven to twelve. • Which calendar it goes to, among the ones you can write to. • Repeats: daily, weekly, monthly, yearly. And when you edit or delete a repeating event, Agenda asks whether you mean this one time or the whole series — because they are two different things and neither is the obvious one. What you write here is on the laptop a minute later: these are the phone's real calendars, not a copy. THE CALENDARS YOU WANT TO SEE If you have a work calendar, a home one, birthdays and the public holidays of three countries, you do not want them all at once. Settings let you pick which ones show — in the app and in the widget. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO • No account to create, no sign-in, no sign-up: it uses the calendars already on your phone, the ones the system syncs by itself. • It does not copy your events anywhere. There is no server of ours for them to land on. • It does not send notifications in place of the system calendar: your reminders stay the ones you already set. PERMISSIONS, AND WHY • Calendar, read — to show the events. That is the only reason. • Calendar, write — to create and edit. Asked the first time you tap the "+", not at startup. • Internet — used by the ads, and by nothing else. Your calendar does not travel over it.
