Schildbach Bitcoin Wallet brings a refreshed design to everyday Bitcoin payments, with a clear balance, transaction history, and quick access to send and receive. YOUR BITCOIN, YOUR KEYS Create a wallet on your device without registering an account. The app uses bitcoinj and simplified payment verification (SPV) to connect to the Bitcoin peer-to-peer network. Your wallet keys are managed locally on your device. EVERYDAY BITCOIN PAYMENTS • Send and receive Bitcoin using QR codes and Bitcoin payment links. • Use SegWit receiving addresses. • Review the recipient, amount, and network fee before sending. • Choose a transaction fee category and follow confirmation progress. • View an optional local-currency estimate using third-party exchange rates. • Protect an exported wallet backup with a password, and restore a compatible encrypted backup file. • Sweep supported paper-wallet private keys into your wallet. • Configure trusted Bitcoin peers. Tor use is available through the separately installed and configured Orbot app. MOVING FROM AN EARLIER WALLET This is a separate app installation. It does not automatically access an earlier Bitcoin Wallet installation or its private files. To migrate, export a compatible encrypted backup from your earlier wallet and restore it here using its backup password. Keep the original backup until you have verified recovery. Restoring a backup replaces the wallet currently stored in this app. BACK UP BEFORE YOU NEED IT Keep your backup file and password safe. Network fees apply, and confirmation times depend on the Bitcoin network. Local-currency values are estimates.
