What's newin version 0.4.0
• Fixed: on phones with bigger text or display size, some screens cut off their buttons. Every screen now scrolls, so you can always reach everything. • New: your journal. Before you get back in, say what pulled you there, and write a few honest lines about it. Write enough and the unlock costs one ad less. • If a notification pulled you in, TimeOut notices and picks that for you.
About this app
A few minutes on the apps you doom scroll. Then it's ads to get back in.
Doom scrolling? You're in time out. TimeOut gives you a few free minutes on the apps you lose hours to. When time's up, you hear a sad trombone and land on your home screen. Want back in? Watch an ad. The catch: every unlock costs more. The first couple cost one ad. By the evening you're sitting through four. After bedtime, you only get a minute, and every unlock costs an extra ad. HOW IT WORKS • Pick your apps. Social, video, games, whatever eats your day. • Answer three honest questions. We build a plan that starts you at a few minutes per unlock and takes one away every few days, until you're down to one. • A 10-second countdown warns you before time's up. • Time's up? Trombone. Home screen. No arguing. • Try to sneak back in and TimeOut asks what pulled you there. Bored? Stressed? A notification? You have to answer. • Write a few honest lines about it and the next unlock costs one ad less. It all goes in your journal, so you can look back and spot the pattern. • Watch ads to unlock more time. They get longer as the day goes on. ALSO • Streaks: days under 10 unlocks. Brag about it (yes, on social media. We know.) • Bedtime mode: stricter rules from 10pm, 11pm or midnight until 6am. • One shared clock across all your limited apps. Switching apps doesn't reset it. • Taking apps off the list costs 3 ads. Nice try. • No ads loading? You wait it out instead. FREE. ACTUALLY FREE. No account. No sign-up. No subscriptions. No in-app purchases. Just a very patient parent living in your phone. PRIVACY TimeOut uses Android's Accessibility service to see which app is open, so it can count your time and send you home when it's up. It also notices when one of your limited apps sends a notification, but never what it says. It doesn't read your screen. Your usage, your answers and your journal never leave your phone. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. Privacy policy: https://www.7technologi.es/timeout-app/privacy.html
