First release. Relay turns your phone into the control surface for one Windows PC on your own Wi-Fi: a live dashboard, force-quit for a program that has hung, trackpad and keyboard, presentation remote, files both ways, clipboard sync, the phone as the PC's webcam and mic, dictation, a macro deck you lay out yourself, notifications both ways, and one-time codes. No account, no cloud, no ads, and no mobile data. The bytes go phone to PC and stop there.
Your PC from your phone, on your own Wi-Fi. No account, no cloud, no data cost.
Relay turns your phone into the control surface for your Windows PC, over your own Wi-Fi. Nothing leaves your local network. There is no account to make, no server of ours to talk to, and no analytics. Relay needs your router, not the internet. If the Wi-Fi is up and the PC is on, it works, and the traffic goes phone to PC and stops there. That is also why it costs no mobile data. Send a folder of lecture slides to your laptop and your data balance does not move, because the bytes never went to a data centre and back. WHAT IT DOES See what the PC is doing. CPU, memory, disk and battery, live, without getting up. Kill what is stuck. Force-quit a hung program from the phone: the thing a resource monitor shows you and then leaves you to fix at the keyboard. Trackpad and keyboard. The phone screen as a precision trackpad, with a real keyboard for the times you are across the room. Presentation remote. Next, back, first, last, blank the screen, and a timer for how long you have been talking, for PowerPoint, Google Slides and PDFs. Files both ways. Pick anything on the phone and it lands on the PC, or share to Relay from any app. No cable, no cloud drive, no data cost. Clipboard sync. Copy on one, paste on the other. Webcam and mic. Use the phone's camera and microphone as the PC's, for the very common case of a laptop whose own camera is worse than the phone in your hand. Dictation. Talk into the phone and the words type themselves into whatever window has focus on the PC. Macro deck. A grid of buttons you lay out yourself, each a keystroke, a program or a script, with profiles that follow whichever app is in front on the PC. Notifications. Phone notifications appear on the PC, and PC notifications on the phone. Off until you turn it on, and then one app at a time, chosen by you. One-time codes. When a login code arrives on the phone, put it into the PC's login box with one deliberate tap. Nothing types itself. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No account, no sign-in, no profile. There is nothing to make and nothing to lose. No cloud. Relay has no server. Nothing of yours is uploaded, stored, or seen by us, because there is nowhere for it to go. No ads, and no analytics SDK. No background typing. Keyboard, mouse, dictation and code entry all need a live action from you, every single time. It will not work over mobile data, on purpose. Relay talks to a PC on the same local network. If the phone is on data and the PC is elsewhere, there is nothing to find. HOW TO START 1. Install the Relay companion on the Windows PC from https://axiomnodelabs-dev.github.io/relay-windows/. It sits in the tray as a small square with a pointer in it, and that square changes colour to say whether the phone is connected. 2. Put both on the same Wi-Fi. 3. Open Relay on the phone. It finds the PC. The PC shows a PIN on its own screen; type that PIN on the phone. Paired. The phone remembers that PC, and you can forget it again from Settings whenever you want. Relay is one app doing the ten things that were five separate installs, built for a mid-range laptop and a metered data plan rather than for a demo.
