Private notes with AI that runs on your phone. Offline and encrypted.
Bardo is a private notes app with local AI, encryption and a calm, beautiful interface. Your notes, to-do lists and journal stay on your phone, work offline and need no account. WRITE AND ORGANIZE Write notes with Markdown, headings, tables, highlights and checkboxes. Turn any note into a to-do list in one tap and back again. Plan with kanban boards, spreadsheets, a calendar and reminders. Group notes into colored blocks, add hashtags, pin what matters and find anything with search. Built-in and custom templates help you start daily notes, meeting notes, journals and plans faster. CAPTURE ANYTHING Scan text from photos and documents with on-device OCR. Record voice memos inside a note or dictate with offline speech-to-text. Draw with your finger or stylus, attach PDF, DOCX and TXT files, and add images and links. Translate notes offline into English, Russian, Hindi, Spanish, Italian, Arabic and German. AI THAT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE Download local AI models from Google, Meta, Alibaba and others and use them with airplane mode on. Get AI summaries of your notes. Semantic search finds notes by meaning, so you find the idea even when you forget the exact words. For a cloud model, connect your own Gemini, DeepSeek or OpenRouter key to Lumen, the AI agent that creates notes and lists, sorts them into blocks and remembers your context. If you want no AI at all, switch it off and every AI button disappears. PRIVACY AND SECURITY Bardo has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Lock the app with a PIN, fingerprint or two-step code. Keep sensitive notes and lists in an encrypted Private Space with its own password. A decoy password opens an empty Bardo. Ghost notes stay off your main screen and show up only in search. Set a timer and a note deletes itself. SYNC ONLY IF YOU WANT Bardo works fully offline. When you need sync, choose TypexAI Cloud with end-to-end encryption, Swiss servers and an account without email or phone number, or connect your own Supabase or WebDAV server. Your keys stay on your devices. SHARE AND MOVE YOUR NOTES Send a note to another phone by QR code with no internet. DarkCode moves up to 140,000 characters in one scan. Publish a note as a link, export to 17+ formats including PDF, EPUB and JSON, or save an encrypted Aegis backup. Import from Evernote, Notion, Docs and TXT. MAKE IT YOURS Pick from 28+ themes with automatic day and night switching, 24 note fonts, note backgrounds, card or list layout and a book-style reader with Zen mode. Explore Bardo Marketplace for templates and themes made by other users. Bardo runs smoothly on low-end phones too. Bardo speaks English, Russian, Hindi, Spanish, Italian, Filipino and Arabic. BARDO PLUS The core notes app is free.
