Kerfbook is the settings notebook for laser engravers and cutters — diode, CO2 and fibre. Save the power, speed and passes that worked, find them again in seconds, and stop wasting material on guesswork. YOUR SETTINGS, ORGANISED • One library per machine, material, thickness and operation: engrave, score, cut, fill and photo. • Power, min power, speed, passes, line interval / LPI, air assist, focus offset, notes and a star rating. • Photos of every result, so you can see what "30 % at 300 mm/s" actually looks like on birch ply. • Search and filter by machine, material or operation. • Values shown in the units your software uses: percent or S-value (GRBL), mm/s or mm/min. TEST GRIDS YOU CAN BURN • Build a power × speed matrix: rows, columns, ranges, square size, gap and labels. • Export a true-size SVG in millimetres with one layer colour per square, ready to import into your laser software, plus a layer legend. • After the burn, tap the best square and save it as a setting in one step. • Pro: grids up to 12 × 12 and a PNG reference card to print. SAFETY BUILT IN • Starter list of common materials: woods, plywood, MDF, leather, cast and extruded acrylic, slate, glass, anodised aluminium, card, cork and fabric, with practical cautions. • PVC, vinyl, faux leather, ABS, polycarbonate, PTFE and fibreglass are flagged "never laser" — Kerfbook refuses to store settings for them, even under a custom name. • Laser-safety reminders: eye protection for your wavelength, ventilation, never unattended.
