KotNES is a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Famicom emulator, including support for the Famicom Disk System. Play your favorite classic games with accurate emulation and a clean, intuitive interface. FEATURES • Wide game compatibility — Supports a lot of mappers, including MMC1–MMC5, VRC6/VRC7, Namco 163, Sunsoft FME-7, and many unlicensed and multicart boards • Famicom Disk System — Play .fds disk images with disk-side switching and authentic FDS sound (requires your own FDS BIOS file) • Expansion audio — Faithful sound for VRC6, VRC7, Namco 163, Sunsoft 5B, MMC5, and FDS titles • Save states — 20 slots per game with screenshot thumbnails, plus auto-resume that picks up right where you left off • Quick save/load — Instant save and restore mapped to your gamepad • RetroAchievements — Sign in to unlock achievements as you play. Browse progress per game and get on-screen notifications when you earn new ones • Playback controls — Pause and resume from the on-screen HUD. While paused, advance one frame at a time with +1. Hold TURBO for 2× fast-forward • Rewind — Automatic snapshots every 5 seconds let you jump back up to 60 seconds. Undo mistakes instantly with an on-screen button, a gamepad shortcut, or by picking a moment from the thumbnail timeline in the menu • Movie recording — Record your play as an FM2 movie from power-on or from the current position. Replay it later, rerecord from a save state, and export to MP4 to share • Game Genie cheats — Enter Game Genie codes or raw address:value cheats, saved per game • Controller support — Connect Bluetooth/USB gamepads with full button remapping, including two-player play • On-screen controls — Customizable touch gamepad with turbo A/B buttons • Speed control — Slow down or fast-forward from 0.25x to 4x • Vs. KotNES does not include any games or BIOS files. • ROM and BIOS files must be legally obtained from games and hardware you own. • Famicom Disk System games require an FDS BIOS file (disksys.rom). KotNES is built with Kotlin and focuses on accuracy and compatibility for a wide range of NES, Famicom, and Famicom Disk System titles.
