Wi-Fi only: keep chosen apps on Wi-Fi, no silent switch to mobile data.
Mid-game or on a video call, a shaky Wi-Fi connection can make your phone quietly switch to mobile data. Next WiFi keeps the apps you choose on the Wi-Fi you started with, and if that Wi-Fi drops, it stops them from moving to mobile data or another Wi-Fi network. Pick apps and tap start Choose the apps to protect and tap "Start Next WiFi mode". Pick one app, several, or select all, and search by app name. The first time, Android asks you to confirm the VPN permission. Chosen apps use only the starting Wi-Fi The moment you start, the chosen apps' traffic is pinned to the Wi-Fi you're connected to. Even if your phone's default connection changes, those apps keep using that Wi-Fi only. Apps you didn't choose use the internet as usual. No switch to mobile data when it drops If the starting Wi-Fi drops, the chosen apps' traffic is paused and you're told right away. You decide whether to end the mode and go back to your normal connection, or keep the block on. If you've reconnected to another Wi-Fi, "Protect current Wi-Fi again" pins the apps to the new network. It's a relief when you're watching your data plan or roaming abroad. Early warnings Next WiFi keeps an eye on signal strength, link speed, response time and lost responses, and shows the current connection risk as a percentage. With notifications allowed, it alerts you when the risk passes 70% and again when things settle. When the signal weakens, it requests the Wi-Fi performance mode your phone supports. Results vary by phone, and it backs off automatically when the battery is low, power saving is on or the phone is hot. Your connection at a glance Wi-Fi signal is shown in levels from Very good to Weak, with 1, 5 and 15-minute graphs of signal and response. When you end the mode, you get a summary of protected time, the weakest signal and how many times the connection dropped. The response time on screen is a direct check of this Wi-Fi's DNS route, not a game server ping. Good times to use it Turn it on before opening apps where a network switch would hurt, like online games or video calls. It also helps when you want to save mobile data or are worried about roaming data abroad. When you end the mode, the chosen apps go back to your normal internet connection. Works only on your phone Next WiFi uses Android's VPN feature only to send the chosen apps through the starting Wi-Fi. This VPN runs entirely on your phone and doesn't send your traffic, the sites you visit, your Wi-Fi name or your list of chosen apps to our servers. It doesn't boost signal strength; it protects the chosen apps' connection route. Android allows one VPN at a time, so turn off any other VPN before you start.
