KeySkin: Keyboard Themes

KeySkin turns your keyboard into something that looks like you - themes, fonts, tap sounds, backgrounds and icon sets - without asking you to trust it with what you type. When you switch on any keyboard, Android warns you that it "may be able to collect all the text you type, including personal data like passwords and credit card numbers". That warning is fair, and most keyboards earn it. KeySkin is built so that it cannot. PRIVACY YOU CAN CHECK - The keyboard has no network code in it. The part of the app that handles your typing is not allowed to contain a single line that talks to a network, an ad library, a payment library or a file archive, and an automated test fails the build if that ever changes. - Nothing you type is stored, logged or sent anywhere. The app measures which screens you open, never what you write, and you can turn that off in Settings. - Everything works offline: the keyboard, and every theme, font and sound you have. - A photo you use in your own design is never copied or uploaded. It stays where it is on your phone. MAKE IT YOURS - Keyboard themes in pastel, kawaii, cute, pink, minimal and dark - Fonts for your keys, from soft and rounded to serif and techno - Tap sounds: soft, pop, bubble, mechanical, piano, typewriter and more - Tap effects that follow your fingers - hearts, stars, petals, fireworks - Backgrounds and icon sets to build a look of your own DESIGN YOUR OWN KEYBOARD Start from a photo on your phone or from a background that comes with the app. Choose your key colours, corner roundness, spacing, font and icon set, then save it. Your designs live in Mine, and you can keep as many as you like. TYPES IN 29 LAYOUTS Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, Persian, Georgian, Thai and Japanese hiragana, switched with the globe key. The app itself speaks English and Vietnamese. MADE TO BE USED - Every key is announced properly by TalkBack - Resize the keyboard, turn vibration on or off, pin up to four clips to the clipboard - One optional daily reminder, created on your phone. There is no push. FREE, WITH COINS Most of what is here is free. Some themes, fonts and sounds cost coins, and you earn coins by opening the app, by checking in each day, or by choosing to watch a video - or buy a coin pack if you would rather not wait. The app carries ads to pay for itself. Premium removes the ads and unlocks everything, including the extra text styles. WHAT THIS KEYBOARD DOES NOT DO Please read this before installing. KeySkin is a keyboard you design, not a keyboard that writes for you. There is no word prediction, no autocorrect and no swipe typing. There are no GIFs and no stickers, and it uses your phone's own emoji picker rather than adding another one. There is no voice input and no cloud sync. It does not yet type Vietnamese with tone marks (no Telex, no VNI), and it does not support Korean or Hindi. If you want a keyboard that fixes your spelling, this is not it. If you want a keyboard that looks exactly the way you want and keeps your typing to itself, it is.
