Count each stitch, follow patterns and keep your yarn stash and gauge in check.

Row Counter is a crochet row counter, knitting counter and project tracker for the work in progress in your lap right now. Tap one big button per row, keep your place, and see your yarn stash, gauge and deadline in the same place instead of on a scrap of paper covered in tally marks.
COUNT EVERY ROW WITHOUT LOSING YOUR PLACE
• One large tap target, with haptic feedback on every tap
• Undo a double tap, and a reset that always asks first
• Link a saved pattern and the pattern follower on the counter card shows the current row, which repeat you are on and how many stitches to expect
• Session history: sittings, rows worked, rows frogged and your longest sitting
• Frogging is part of the craft: log the rows you ripped back and why
• Extra counters for repeats and color changes (Pro)
PLAN THE FINISH
• Finish-by date: set one for a gift make and see the daily pace it needs, and whether your real pace is on track
• Gauge checker: enter your swatch and see if the piece comes out the intended size, or which hook size or stitch count gets you there
• Yarn forecast: tap "started a new skein" as you join balls and the app estimates whether your yarn reaches the last row
• When a project is finished, deduct the yarn it used from your stash and share a finished-object card with your totals and days on the hook
A YARN STASH THAT KNOWS WHAT YOU OWN
• Log fiber, weight, color, dye lot, grams and how much of each skein is left
• Scan the ball band: AI reads the printed label and fills the fields for you to check before saving
• Stash match: open a pattern and see whether one colorway in your stash has enough yardage of the right weight to make it
PATTERNS AND A STITCH GLOSSARY
• Keep every pattern in one place, typed in or pasted line by line
• Ten free starter patterns to begin with: dishcloth, coaster, granny square, ribbed scarf, beanie, amigurumi ball, market bag, chunky blanket, baby booties and a basic shawl
• AI pattern import: photograph a page or paste the text and it becomes a step-by-step counter
• Stitch count check flags lines whose numbers do not add up; AI can suggest a corrected reading (Pro)
• Stitch glossary with more than 150 crochet and knitting abbreviations, including US vs UK terms (US single crochet is UK double crochet)
MADE FOR BOTH CRAFTS
Onboarding asks whether you crochet, knit or both, whether you read US or UK terms, and which hook or needle you reach for, so new projects open with the right sizes. Optional WIP nudges remind you about a project that has gone quiet, a deadline that is slipping, or a counter close to its target; they stay off unless you turn them on. Light and dark themes, 10 interface languages.

YOUR DATA
Your projects, stash, patterns and counts are stored on your device, and you can start counting without an account; signing in is optional. The AI features ask first and send only the photo or text you choose to an AI service for processing. Cloud backup, a Pro feature for signed-in users, uploads your records only when you turn it on. The app uses Firebase analytics and crash reports, and the free version shows ads.
