It cannot upload your documents because there is nowhere to upload them to. A payslip, an ID card or a signed contract stays on the phone you scanned it with. Works offline. There is no cloud storage here, so nothing is backed up behind your back either. PERMISSIONS ClearScanner asks for the camera when you scan and your photo library when you import a picture. It never asks for contacts, location, accounts or files. One honest limit: this app does not sync between devices and has no web version. Both need a server, which is exactly what it does not have.
