First release. • One-tap home screen widget (1x1 to 2x2) and a Quick Settings tile • Always starts at your device's maximum torch strength • Stays on with the screen off; switch it off from the notification • SOS morse signal and an adjustable 1-20 Hz strobe • Full-screen light in six colours, and a sensor-only compass • Dark and light themes • No camera permission, works offline
One tap on the widget and the light is on. No camera permission, max brightness.
One tap and the light is on. TapLight is a flashlight you actually reach in a hurry. Put the widget on your home screen and one tap turns the torch on, one more turns it off. No app to open, no extra taps, no waiting. WHY PEOPLE SWITCH • One tap, not three. The home screen widget toggles the LED directly. The Quick Settings tile does the same from the lock screen. • Always full brightness. On phones that support adjustable torch strength, TapLight starts at your device's maximum — not some dim default — and lets you dial it down if you want. • It stays on. The light keeps burning with the screen off and while you use other apps, and you can switch it off straight from the notification. • No camera permission. Ever. TapLight controls the LED through Android's torch API, so it never asks to use your camera, your location, your contacts or your files. WHAT IS INSIDE Flashlight — a big on/off button, and a brightness slider on devices that support it. The slider is hidden on devices that don't, instead of teasing you with a control that does nothing. Home screen widget — resizable from 1x1 up to 2x2. The widget changes colour when the torch is on, so you can tell at a glance across a bright room. Quick Settings tile — add it once and the flashlight is one swipe away, even on the lock screen. SOS and strobe — the international SOS morse signal for emergencies, plus an adjustable strobe from 1 to 20 Hz. Both keep flashing with the screen off. Screen light — turns the whole display into a soft lamp in six colours, with its own brightness control. Good for reading at night, finding a keyhole, or lighting a face for a photo. Compass — a plain compass that uses only your phone's magnetic sensor. No location permission, no internet. Dark and light themes — follows your system setting by default, or pick one. The dark theme is built for night use so the screen does not blind you when you only wanted the torch. BUILT SMALL AND FAST TapLight is a native Android app, not a web wrapper. It opens instantly, takes almost no space, and works entirely offline — there is no account, no login, no sync, and nothing to sign up for. HONEST ABOUT ADS TapLight is free and shows ads. It never puts an ad between you and the light: the widget and the Quick Settings tile are completely ad-free, the on/off button is never gated by an ad, and the full-screen light mode carries no banner. If you need light in an emergency, you get light. PERMISSIONS, IN PLAIN WORDS • Notifications — to show the "light is on" notification with an off button, and optional reminders you can turn off. • Foreground service — keeps the app alive only while the torch is on, so Android does not kill it and leave you in the dark. • Internet — used only by the ad SDK. That is the entire list. No camera. No location. No storage. No contacts. Whether you are checking a fuse box, walking a dog at night, camping, reading a menu in a dark restaurant, or hunting for something behind the sofa — TapLight is one tap away on your home screen.
