APA, MLA, Harvard & Chicago citations, a bibliography and web similarity check
Read full description
CiteRight helps you build citations and reference lists, then check your writing for matches on the public web. Choose APA 7, MLA 9, Chicago 18, Harvard, IEEE or Vancouver for essays, reports and research.
ADD A SOURCE
Look up a book by ISBN or an article by DOI, scan a title page to draft its details, or enter a source yourself. CiteRight supports books, book chapters, journal articles, websites and newspaper articles. Review each field before you save it: lookups and scans can miss details, and Harvard guidance varies between institutions.
BUILD YOUR REFERENCE LIST
Keep your sources together, copy individual citations or assemble a reference list or Works Cited page. Export reference lists as Word or PDF files when available on your plan.
CHECK YOUR WRITING
Paste text or open a supported document to check it against sources CiteRight can reach on the public web. Highlighted passages and links to matching sources help you decide what to quote, cite or revise. The report shows how much text was compared; a low match result is not proof that a document is original.
FREE AND PRO
The free plan includes citation tools and a limited number of exact-match web checks each day. A short video can unlock one Word or PDF export. Pro adds semantic similarity checking, more checks and export without that video. Check the current in-app plan details before subscribing.
ACADEMIC INTEGRITY
CiteRight does not search your institution's private archives or student databases and does not make a plagiarism verdict. Similarity is a prompt to review your work, not an accusation. Follow your course's citation rules and check every reference before you submit.
