About this app
Can't decide where to eat? One tap picks a real restaurant near you.
Food For You ends the nightly stand-off. Instead of handing you 200 results to scroll through, it picks ONE real restaurant near you, open right now. If you don't like it, spin again. ONE TAP, ONE ANSWER Open the app, tap Find Me Food, and get a single suggestion: what it is, how far away, whether it's open, and its price and rating when Google lists them (a new place with no reviews says "New", not a made-up number). It prefers places that aren't about to close, and Spin Again won't repeat a pick until you've seen every open spot nearby. Went too far? Tap Previous. No endless lists. No paralysis. Just somewhere to go. FEELING SOMETHING SPECIFIC? Pick one craving or several: pizza, burgers, Filipino, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Italian, BBQ, seafood, breakfast, coffee, dessert and more. Or skip it entirely and let the app choose. Cravings are always optional. In the afternoon it suggests merienda; late at night, Open late looks for spots with at least two more hours to go. CAN'T EVEN DECIDE THAT? Tap Surprise me. It ignores your filters completely and picks something at random. It's the fastest way out of a rut, and it's how you find places you'd never have chosen. NARROW IT DOWN WHEN YOU CARE • Place type: fast food, sit-down restaurants, diners, food carts, bars with a menu, cafés and bakeries • Price: from cheap eats to a proper night out • Minimum rating (2+, 3+ or 4+ stars) • Vegetarian-friendly only • Search radius: 1, 3, 5, 10 or 15 km MORE WAYS TO DECIDE • Show me 3: pass the phone around and skip the ones you don't want, then the app picks from what's left • Surprise me from your saved spots: one that's open now, no search needed • Hide a place you never want to see again, or mark it closed. It stays off your picks on this phone (and in your phone's own backup, if that's on) • Recent picks: your last 20, with when you picked them, kept on your phone (and in its own backup, if that's on), so you can find that place again SAVE THE GOOD ONES Found somewhere worth repeating? Save it. Your saved spots are always one tap away and can be sorted by most recently saved, nearest to you, or top rated. Removed one by accident? Tap Undo. CALL OR GET THERE Tap Call to ring the place. Tap Start for turn-by-turn directions: a real driving route, spoken instructions before every turn, your live position as you travel, and automatic re-routing if you come off the route. Prefer your usual app? "Open in Google Maps" is right there. FOOD FOR YOU PLUS (OPTIONAL) A yearly plan with a 7-day free trial: no ads, notes on your saved spots, a Menu button on your pick, and "been there" marks so picks can skip places you've already tried. Free with ads. Food For You Plus removes them. BUILT TO GET OUT OF YOUR WAY • Real places, real photos and real ratings, powered by Google Places • Light and dark themes • Sound effects and haptic feedback, each with its own switch in Settings • Long-press the icon for Find food, Surprise or Saved, or add the home-screen widget • No account, no sign-up, no email address • Your saved spots stay on your phone (and in its own backup, if that's on) A NOTE ON LOCATION The app asks for your location so it can find places near you and measure how far they are. When you've already allowed location, the app checks it when it opens, so your first pick is one tap. It stays in memory and is never stored, and distances are worked out live from where you are now: saved spots and recent picks keep only a place's ID (its details load fresh from Google Maps), and the app doesn't store your location or your distance from it. Your coordinates pass through our server to Google to fetch results; our server doesn't keep or log them. Prefer not to share it? Type an address or pick a spot on the map instead; the app still works. A typed address can pass through our server to Google to find where it is, and isn't kept or logged either. Hungry. Undecided. Sorted.
