Scan multi-page documents, recognize text, sign PDFs and share smaller files.
Turn paper into useful PDF documents with a focused Android scanning workflow.
Scan page after page
The Google scanner finds the page edges, straightens the page and cleans up the image automatically, with filters and up to 100 pages per scan. It captures automatically by default; tap the shutter button at any time to take the photo without waiting, or switch the scanner to Manual. You can also pick photos from your gallery inside the scanner. Import photos and PDF files from your device or cloud storage, too, as a new document or into an open one. Add more pages from the Add pages tile, then reorder, crop or remove pages afterwards without rescanning.
Edit without losing the source
Crop, rotate and apply color, grayscale or black-and-white filters. Original page images remain available while PDFs are rebuilt from your edits.
Recognize text
Use on-device Latin-script OCR or configure optional AI recognition with your own API key. Recognition can create a searchable PDF and a matching HTML document that opens inside the app.
Add signatures
Draw a signature or import a transparent image. Add multiple signatures, then move, resize and rotate each one with visible controls. Signing creates a separate copy instead of overwriting the original.
Create smaller files
Choose compact, balanced or maximum PDF quality and optimize existing documents when you need a smaller file.
Stay informed
Clear progress indicators explain when pages are being prepared, recognized, optimized or saved.
Privacy-focused by design
Documents are stored in the app’s private local workspace. There are no ads or Doc Scanner accounts, and the app needs no camera permission: the Google Play services scanner handles the camera on your device. Optional AI recognition sends selected pages only after confirmation.
Doc Scanner 2027 supports PDF sharing through Android, Recently Deleted recovery, HTML text viewing, Select all and Copy all.
