ECG rhythm strip practice, ABG quiz and rate drills. New strips every round.
ECG Quiz is a practice app for nursing students, medical students, paramedics and anyone learning EKG rhythm interpretation. Every strip is drawn by the app, not scanned from a book, so you get a new one every single time and never end up memorising the picture instead of the rhythm. PRACTICE MODES - Rhythm Quiz - ten strips, name the rhythm - Speed Round - how many can you get in sixty seconds - Rate Drill - count the boxes and read the heart rate - ABG Quiz - arterial blood gases, step by step - Mock Exam - 20 questions in 15 minutes, marked at the end - Daily Challenge - five strips a day, the same five for everyone - Weak Areas - focused practice on the rhythms you keep missing - Review Misses - the exact strips you got wrong, redrawn 15 RHYTHMS Normal Sinus Rhythm, Sinus Bradycardia, Sinus Tachycardia, Atrial Fibrillation, Atrial Flutter, Supraventricular Tachycardia, Junctional Rhythm, Premature Ventricular Contraction, Ventricular Tachycardia, Ventricular Fibrillation, Asystole, First-degree AV Block, Mobitz I (Wenckebach), Mobitz II and Complete Heart Block. BLOOD GAS INTERPRETATION Respiratory acidosis, respiratory alkalosis, metabolic acidosis and metabolic alkalosis, with compensation. The ABG quiz walks the same four steps every time - pH, then PaCO2, then HCO3, then compensation - so what you learn is a method rather than an answer. EVERY ANSWER EXPLAINED Rate, rhythm, P wave, PR interval and QRS width for the strip in front of you, plus why it is that rhythm and which one it is most often mistaken for. MEASURE IT YOURSELF Built-in calipers. Drag across the strip to measure an R-R interval or a PR interval, the same way you would on paper. LEARN SECTION Every rhythm with its criteria, its look-alikes and the mistakes students actually make. Use it as a reference in the middle of a quiz or read it on its own. TRACK WHAT YOU MISS Accuracy for each rhythm, best streak, study streak and fourteen badges. Rhythms you get wrong come back more often, until they stop being weak. WHO IT IS FOR Nursing students and nurses on telemetry, cardiac and critical care units. Medical students, paramedics and EMTs. Respiratory therapy students working on acid-base. Anyone revising dysrhythmia recognition for a course exam or for ACLS. WORKS WITHOUT A SIGNAL Strips are generated on your phone, so you can practise on a ward, on a bus, or anywhere with no connection. No account and no login. NEW TO RHYTHM STRIPS Start with the Learn section and the Rate Drill. The drill teaches heart rate the way it is taught on the ward - count the large boxes between two R waves, or count the complexes in a six-second strip - and then makes you do it on a new strip until it is quick. Sinus rhythms first, then atrial, then ventricular, then the blocks. HOW THE STRIPS ARE MADE Each one is built from a rhythm model and a random seed, drawn at 25 mm/s and 10 mm/mV on a standard ECG grid. Rate, regularity and morphology vary within the range the rhythm actually allows, so two atrial fibrillation strips never look the same and the right answer is never the one you simply remembered. IMPORTANT ECG Quiz is an educational study tool. The strips are generated examples for practice, and the app is not a medical device. It is not for diagnosis, for treatment, or for any clinical decision about a real patient.
