Faroe Bus

Some Faroe Islands buses only run if you call ahead, and the signal can vanish between fjords. Plan bus and ferry trips around the Faroe Islands before you travel, then keep the timetables working offline. PLAN BY PLACE Choose where you start and where you are going by name, such as Vágar Airport, Tórshavn, Klaksvík or Gjógv. Planning works without GPS and without being in the Faroes. KNOW WHICH TRIPS NEED A CALL Many rural SSL trips only run if you phone ahead. Faroe Bus marks the trips SSL lists as call-ahead, so you know before you set out. WHAT'S COVERED • SSL's 23 country bus routes, including the airport bus from Vágar to Tórshavn • Ferries to Suðuroy, Kalsoy, Hestur, Skúvoy and Nólsoy, with the bus connections at each quay • Today's departures from stops near you • Offline map with the stops the app covers • Island webcams (needs a connection) • Optional GetYourGuide experiences, opened in your browser (third-party, needs a connection) Not yet covered: the Mykines ferry (36), ferry 58 to Svínoy and Fugloy, and Tórshavn's city buses. NO ACCOUNT NEEDED Planning, timetables, today's departures and the offline map need no account and no sign-in. Some extras need an optional in-app purchase; the app shows what is included and the price before you buy. GOOD TO KNOW SSL changes its timetables between winter and summer, so check important journeys with SSL. Faroe Bus shows scheduled times, not bus or ferry positions, and it does not sell tickets. INDEPENDENT APP — NOT A GOVERNMENT SERVICE Faroe Bus is made by Fri Vei, an independent developer. It is not an SSL service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of Strandfaraskip Landsins (SSL), the Faroese government or any public authority.
