Welcome to Flass — campus messaging built for university life. Message your course groups and friends, share files, and join voice and video calls, all in one place. Keep up with campus announcements, events, and office hours without digging through email. Flass is set up by your university, so sign in with your university email to get started.
Campus chat, groups, and events — built for your university.
Flass is the messaging app your university actually runs — not a consumer group chat you hope everyone joins, and not another tool bolted onto the VLE. Campus conversation is usually scattered: announcements by email, coursework questions in a group chat nobody can moderate, office hours booked on a spreadsheet, society life somewhere the institution cannot see at all. Flass brings it into one place built for how universities work, and private enough for the conversations they have. BUILT AROUND YOUR STRUCTURE Rooms for every module, cohort and society, plus one-to-one and group messages Provision an entire intake in one step instead of creating rooms by hand Time-limited rooms close automatically at the end of term, so next year starts clean Anonymous rooms let students raise feedback, wellbeing and peer-support topics under a consistent pseudonym rather than their own name TEACHING TOOLS IN THE ROOM Office hours with a real queue — staff open a session, students join a line, everyone can see where they stand Polls and surveys for checking understanding and collecting module feedback Events published straight into the conversation, with reminders Scheduled messages, so an announcement written tonight goes out Monday morning VOICE AND VIDEO, WHEN A MESSAGE ISN'T ENOUGH One-to-one and group voice and video calls, so a question that needs a real conversation doesn't wait on typing Incoming calls ring with a full-screen alert, even on a locked phone, the same way a phone call does — not a notification you can miss in a list Call straight from a room or a direct message, no separate app or dial-in code PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION, NOT BY POLICY Messages are end-to-end encrypted with AES-256-GCM under per-room keys, unwrapped only on a signed-in device Search runs over encrypted keyword tokens, so students can find an old message without that message being readable in storage Notification previews are encrypted in transit too — a private message stays private on the way to the lock screen Sign in with your university email, or through Microsoft Entra ID or Google, so access follows the same joiner and leaver process as every other institutional system EVERYTHING A COURSE NEEDS TO SHARE Slides, PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, images, audio and video, previewed in the conversation rather than dumped in a downloads folder Pinch to zoom images and documents, and play voice notes that keep going while you scroll Save and pin the messages that matter, and search across every room you are in Replies, mentions, forwarding, drafts and unread markers CAMPUS LIFE, ON A SERVICE YOU RUN A marketplace for student-to-student buying and selling A jobs board for part-time and graduate roles Both moderated by the university instead of living in an unmoderated external group NOTIFICATIONS PEOPLE KEEP SWITCHED ON Per-room notification settings mean a student stays reachable for their tutor without being woken by a society group at 2am — so they do not mute everything and miss what matters. ON EVERY DEVICE The same product in the browser and as native iOS and Android apps, so a question asked in a lecture gets answered from a phone on the bus home. FOR INSTITUTIONS Flass connects to the systems you already run, including Moodle, and is hosted in the EU with a data processing agreement available on request. Storage, retention and integrations are sized to your institution — tell us roughly how large you are and we will price it. Flass is free to download. Access requires an account at a participating institution.
