Measure sound levels with a live dB meter, graph, timer and saved history
Turn your phone into a practical sound level meter for everyday checks. Sound Meter uses the device microphone to estimate the surrounding sound level in decibels. Watch changes in real time, compare minimum, average (Leq) and maximum values, and follow the last 60 seconds on a clear graph. Real-time measurement • Live estimated dB reading • Smooth gauge and 60-second chart • Minimum, average (Leq) and maximum values • Pause, resume and timed measurements Calibration and history • Adjust calibration against a trusted reference meter • Save measurements with optional names • Review previous sessions and clipping warnings • Share a clean summary image with statistics and chart Privacy by design Microphone samples are processed temporarily in memory and discarded immediately after the numeric level is calculated. Sound Meter does not save recordings, raw audio or waveforms. Saved history contains numeric measurement results only. Important limitations Phone microphones vary between devices and are not designed as certified measuring instruments. Results are estimates affected by the microphone, device processing and calibration. Do not use Sound Meter for occupational, legal, medical, professional or safety-critical decisions.
