Lye & water for your soap recipe. No account needed. One-time Pro: cost, labels
Read full description
Lyeria is a soap calculator that works out the lye and water for your soap recipe. Pick your oils, enter grams, ounces or percentages, and you get the NaOH, KOH and water to weigh. If you sell your soap, the one-time Lyeria Pro purchase adds the cost and a suggested price per bar, and prints ingredient labels in descending order with INCI names.
■ What you can do with Lyeria
• Lye, water and oil totals stay at the top of the screen while you type
• Weighing order checklist: water, lye, then each oil — tap to check each one off
• Enter oils by weight or by percent; a colored bar shows your blend
• Oil amount from the inside size of your mold (box molds and round tubes)
• Soap qualities as a guide: hardness, cleansing, conditioning, bubbly and creamy lather, iodine, INS — and compare them with a saved recipe
• Save as many recipes as you like on your phone, by name, and open any of them to make the same batch again
• Share a recipe as text to notes, email or messages
• NaOH, KOH or dual lye, with adjustable purity
• Superfat, fragrance, and water three ways (% of oils, lye concentration, water : lye ratio)
• Fatty acid profile and Sat : Unsat ratio. With oils whose SAP value varies widely (like shea butter), you also see your superfat if your oil is at the low end of its range
• Grams and centimeters (or millimeters), or ounces and inches; dark mode, English, Japanese and many other languages
• No account needed: open the app and start calculating
■ Lyeria Pro — seller tools, one-time purchase
• Cost and price: from your ingredient prices (per lb or per kg), packaging, labor and hourly rate — batch cost, cost per bar, and a suggested price from your margin
• Ingredient labels: ingredients in descending order by weight, with INCI names (EU or US style) or names in your language, printed 8 per sheet as a PDF
• Batch log: lot numbers and the date each batch finishes curing
• Recipe cards with your logo, saved and shared as PDF
• No ads
No subscription. Without Pro you keep calculating, saving and sharing as before.
■ Where the numbers come from
SAP, iodine and fatty acid values are the middle of the ranges published in the Codex Alimentarius standards, pharmacopoeias and similar sources. The source for each oil is listed in the app settings. INCI names are only included when they were confirmed in the EU CosIng database and a second source.
■ FAQ
How much lye do I need for my soap?
It depends on your oils and their weights. Choose the oils and amounts, and Lyeria shows the lye after your superfat.
Can I use it for liquid soap (KOH)?
Yes. Choose KOH and it calculates at 90% purity by default. Change the purity to match your container.
How much oil fits my soap mold?
On the Mold screen, enter the inside size of your mold. Tap "Use this amount in the recipe" to scale your recipe to it.
How do I price my handmade soap?
In Pro, enter your ingredient prices, packaging and labor. Lyeria shows the cost per bar and a suggested price for the margin you choose.
Can it make ingredient labels?
Yes, in Pro. It lists ingredients in descending order by weight with INCI names or names in your language, and prints 8 labels per sheet.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-up, and your recipes are saved on your phone.

■ Please note
Results are a guide. Oils vary by origin and harvest, and lye by purity. Lye is a strong alkali: wear gloves and eye protection, and always add lye to water. Labeling rules differ by country and region — check the rules where you sell before you sell.
