No engine, just sky. Circle rising air under summer clouds, round the turnpoints and glide home. Hawk Ridge Soaring is a calm, top-down gliding simulation. You fly a sailplane with nothing but the air around you: find a thermal, centre it, climb, then choose how fast to glide to the next turnpoint. HOW YOU FLY - Drag sideways on the map to bank. The glider holds that bank until you change it, so circling in a thermal is smooth and relaxed. - Use the speed slider to trade sink rate against distance. It follows a real sailplane speed polar: fly slow to stretch a climb, fly faster to cover ground between thermals. - Thermals drift with the wind under cumulus markers. Lift is strongest in the core and fades as you near cloudbase. - Wind blowing onto a ridge makes a band of lift on its upwind side, perfect for running along the hills. - Enter each numbered turnpoint circle in order, then glide back to the airfield. - If you run out of height, the flight ends with a calm field landing. Try a different line next time. TASKS AND PROGRESS - 24 cross-country tasks, from short loops to long ridge tours. - Every task was test-flown by an autopilot, and its time sets the par for your stars. - A visual variometer with gentle climb ticks shows how well you are centring the lift. - Logbook stats, best times and 13 pilot badges to earn.
