WHAT NIMBOCAST DOES Nimbocast shows you what the weather is doing right now, on a map you can play back to see where a storm has been and where it is heading. RADAR • Live precipitation radar • Animated playback with a timeline you can scrub • Jump to your location, or pan anywhere on the map WARNINGS • Severe and extreme alerts issued by the National Weather Service • Warning areas drawn on the map, not just listed in a feed • Open an alert to read the full text and see exactly which area it covers • Each alert shows the National Weather Service office that issued it TROPICAL SYSTEMS • Active tropical storms, depressions and hurricanes • Forecast track, wind speed, pressure and direction of travel • From the National Hurricane Center and the Joint Typhoon Warning Center FORECAST • Hourly and daily forecasts for wherever you are • Compare what different forecast models expect, side by side ALERTS ON YOUR PHONE • Rain about to start near you • Severe thunderstorm and other National Weather Service warnings • Snow and frost warnings • You choose which of these you want, and you can turn them all off Your location is used to centre the map and to work out which warnings apply to you.
