First public release. GoatHam is a field logger for the *OTA programmes — POTA, SOTA, WWFF and TOTA. • Live spots from every programme in one list, coloured by band • Parks and summits near you, searchable offline • One-handed logging: frequency, band, mode, power and time typed into the callsign field • Callsign lookup from your own log and QRZ.com • Activation progress, self-spotting and ADIF export • English and European Portuguese
Hunt and activate POTA, SOTA, WWFF and TOTA: live spots, map, field log, etc.
Chase activators from the sofa, or be the one everybody is chasing. GoatHam covers four of the outdoor amateur radio programmes in one app: Parks on the Air, Summits on the Air, World Wide Flora & Fauna, and Towers on the Air. HUNTING • Live spots from all four programmes in a single feed. Sort by newest, by nearest to you, up the band by frequency, or by which activators still need contacts to make their activation count. • Spots you have already worked are marked as you scroll, so you can tell a new reference from one already in your log without opening anything. • Filter by band, mode and programme. Band colours run through the whole app, so a glance tells you where a spot sits. • Standing alert rules: describe what you want to hear about and what to ignore, and get a notification when it turns up. Silence everything for an hour, eight hours, until tomorrow, or indefinitely. IN THE FIELD • Start an activation and log contacts on a form built for a pile-up. It tells you when you have worked an operator before, under any portable form of their callsign. • A dashboard that counts what the programmes count: contacts, time on air, rate, and a UTC clock that warns you when the UTC day is about to end under you. • One contact can credit several references at once, so a summit inside a park is typed once and counted by both programmes. • Self-spot to POTA, WWFF and Towers on the Air without leaving the app. • Know what you are standing in. Where a reference's boundary is published, GoatHam shows you inside it, outside it, or too near the edge to be certain, with your position, how accurate the fix is, and the distance and bearing to the nearest edge. YOUR LOG • Search by callsign or reference. Narrow by period, band, mode, or whether you have uploaded it yet. • Export an activation as ADIF, one file per reference per UTC day, which is exactly the file each programme's uploader asks for. • Import ADIF from any other logger. A contact already in the log is skipped, so importing the same file twice adds nothing. • Back up the entire log to a single ADIF file, and restore it by importing that file again. • Swipe a contact away and undo it. Undo the last contact of a run and the callsign goes back into the field to be retyped. • Activations are worked out from the contacts themselves rather than stored, so editing, deleting or importing can never leave your activation list disagreeing with your log. THE MAP • Parks, summits and towers on an OpenStreetMap base, with live spots drawn over them. • Real boundaries where a programme publishes them, instead of a single pin dropped somewhere in a sixty-kilometre park. • Markers gather into groups when you zoom out and separate as you zoom in. • A layer per programme, so the map shows only what you are chasing today. PRACTICAL • English and European Portuguese throughout. • Reference lists download for offline use, for the valley with no signal. • Set your position from GPS, from a point you pick on the map, or from a grid square. • Works without an account. Self-spotting to POTA needs no sign-in either. • Your log lives on your device, and leaves it only when you export it. GoatHam is for licensed amateur radio operators.
