9A5N Keyer BT Companion — Bluetooth pocket terminal for the 9A5N QRQ Keyer and 9A5N PicoKeyer. Live, bidirectional control of every firmware parameter, a hardware-tailored on-screen CW keyboard, a text-to-Morse Send screen, and a Receive terminal designed for CW practice. ▌ HIGHLIGHTS • DUAL TRANSPORT — Bluetooth Classic SPP and Bluetooth Low Energy both supported. Auto-detects which radio your keyer uses; shows SPP / BLE in the status badge. BLE long-message chunking handled transparently. • ONE-TAP PAIRING — no PIN dialog. SPP units auto-supply the factory PIN; BLE units just-works bond on first connect. • HARDWARE-AWARE UI — connect to a QRQ Keyer and the full Settings UI (side tone, beacon, Farnsworth, oscillator, PA tune) appears. Connect to a PicoKeyer and the app hides controls the firmware doesn't implement; the Memory screen swaps to a "no message memory on this hardware" placeholder. The AppBar title animates between "9A5N KEYER", "9A5N QRQ KEYER", and "9A5N PICOKEYER" as you switch hardware. • LIVE BIDIRECTIONAL SYNC — turn the SPEED knob on the keyer and the slider in the app moves with it. Every slider is commit-gated: the value goes out exactly once on release, never spammed mid-drag. • 9A5N CW KEYBOARD — custom on-screen keyboard built for ham operators, replaces the system IME inside the app. Morse code hint under every letter and digit, ALL-CAPS by default, always-visible digit row, prosigns one tap away ([AR], [BT], [SK], [KN], [DM]), clipboard PASTE with 7-bit-ASCII filter. No autocorrect, no emoji, no language switcher. • MEMORIES (QRQ Keyer) — RAM buffer + 5 EEPROM slots, one-tap save-to-slot, pulsing beacon-source badge on slot 1, atomic delete-and-overwrite, 1024 chars per slot. • SEND SCREEN — type CW, watch the live TX countdown, see your payload as a Morse pulse. Operator-editable quick macros and prosigns. Drafts persist across app kill. • RECEIVE TERMINAL — train your fist. Read-only terminal that streams everything the keyer transmits back. Wipes on every entry so each drill starts on a clean buffer. Phosphor-CRT rendering, optional per-line timestamps, hex-dump view, font zoom, typewriter-paced reveal. • EVERY MANUAL COMMAND — speed, pot range, keying mode (Iambic A/B, Ultimatic, Bug, Straight on QRQ Keyer), 23 side-tone frequencies, auto-space, dot/dash invert, Farnsworth, beacon, ±32 oscillator trim, PA-tune. PicoKeyer surfaces a documented subset. • AMATEUR-RADIO-NATIVE UI — dark phosphor-green theme, monospace readouts, oscilloscope intro that keys "9A5N" in actual Morse, CRT scanlines, S-meter status. Honours Android's Reduce Motion and 200 % font scaling. • PRIVACY-FIRST — no accounts, no cloud, no analytics, no crash reporters, no ads. Single version-check at cold start; everything else stays between your phone and the keyer over local Bluetooth. ▌ HARDWARE Designed exclusively for the 9A5N keyer hardware family. Will not connect to other CW keyers or generic Bluetooth peripherals. • 9A5N QRQ Keyer — Bluetooth Classic (SPP / RFCOMM, JDY-31) or BLE (GATT FFE0 / FFE1, JDY-33-BLE). Full command set + 1 RAM and 5 EEPROM memory slots. Supports 9A5N native commands + WinKeyer 3.1. • 9A5N PicoKeyer — Bluetooth Classic or BLE. Reduced command set: speed, speed range, mode, auto-space, key invert, CW-out. No on-device memory, side tone, beacon, Farnsworth, or oscillator calibration.
