Stability and performance improvements.
Your 200 L tank holds 150 L of water. Work from the litres you really have.
You buy a “200 litre” tank and you do not get 200 litres of water. The glass, the substrate, the rocks and the gap below the rim all take their share, and you usually land somewhere near 150. Start from the wrong number and every dose overshoots and every stocking estimate is off. AquaCalc starts there. You measure the outside of the glass, say how deep the substrate is and how much you leave below the rim, and the app gives you the real water volume. Every other calculation is built on that number. ◆ REAL WATER VOLUME for four shapes — rectangular, cylinder, bow front and hexagonal — with glass, substrate and decor taken out ◆ WEIGHT when running, so you know whether the cabinet and the floor can take it ◆ FILTER: minimum, maximum and recommended flow for your kind of tank, and what to look for on the box knowing that figure is measured empty ◆ HEATER: watts for your room temperature, and whether to split it into two ◆ STOCKING: how many fish fit by adult size, with a capacity verdict ◆ DISSOLVED CO₂ from KH and pH, with danger zones ◆ SALINITY: ppt and specific gravity, hydrometer temperature correction, salt for new water and how much to add or swap out ◆ DOSING: millilitres from the bottle label or from a target ppm, converted to caps ◆ WATER CHANGES: litres, buckets, the nitrates left afterwards and how many changes it takes to get from X to Y ◆ LOG of temperature, pH, KH, GH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and salinity, with CO₂ worked out for you ◆ SPECIES CATALOGUE: 68 common species with adult size, minimum water volume and minimum group, and a warning when your tank falls short WHY THE LOG MATTERS. A single reading tells you very little: 20 mg/L of nitrate can be excellent or the start of a problem depending on where you came from. The series is what shows whether the tank is settling. And if you log ammonia or nitrite above zero with fish in the tank, the app flags it as an emergency. UNITS YOUR WAY. Litres or gallons (US and UK), centimetres or inches, Celsius or Fahrenheit. Switching units never rewrites a stored value: everything lives in internal units and yours are only how it is shown. NO ACCOUNTS, NO SIGN-UP. Your data stays on the phone. The app uses the internet only for ads and to ask for your advertising consent. AN HONEST WARNING. These are estimates to help you decide, not veterinary advice. Livestock come first: if something looks wrong in the tank, trust what you see over any number. Interface in 13 languages.
