MakerBase

Makerbase is the app our teaching staff use to run their working day. Accounts are created by MakeInspires when someone is hired, so there is no public sign-up and nothing in the app is available without an account. Instructors sign in with a one-time code sent to the email address or mobile number on their staff record. Home The home section shows the instructor's next class, what time it starts and where it is, along with a button to check in once they arrive. Any prep work that is due and the rest of the day's classes appear underneath. Schedule The schedule lists every class, private lesson, event and party an instructor is assigned to, and they can look at it by week or by month. Opening one shows the address and directions to the site, who to contact when they get there, the arrival and dismissal procedures, the materials they will need and the lesson plan for that session. Check in and check out Instructors check in when they arrive at a class, and fill in a short wrap-up once it has finished. The check-in is the record payroll uses to pay them for that session. If there is no signal at the site, the app saves the check-in on the phone and sends it as soon as the connection comes back. Pay The pay section shows the hours an instructor has worked in the current pay period, the shifts recorded at each site they have taught at, and their paystubs. It is also where they submit reimbursements, prep work and classes that were not booked through the system. Profile The profile section shows which documents we already have on file for an instructor, and lets them set the days they are available, choose the regions they are willing to work in, and update their photo.
