About this app
A food journal that reminds you: log a meal in one tap, on your own schedule.
Keeping a food journal works. Remembering to write in it is the hard part. Appetite Chronicles turns that around: instead of waiting for you to remember, it asks. You pick the hours and how often, and when the reminder arrives you log the meal in one tap, without opening anything. Nobody quits a food diary because writing is hard. They quit because three weeks in, they forget. So the thing you set up here isn't a form: it's the reminders, and they're yours to shape. WHAT YOU GET • No more relying on memory: the reminder comes to you, at your hour • Log a meal in seconds, straight from the notification • See a whole week at a glance, no spreadsheets • Take away a PDF or an image, ready to show whoever you choose • Write in your own words: no weighing, no counting, no food database WHAT YOU CAN TRACK Four kinds of entry, and only the ones you want: • Meals — what you ate and how much, with a photo of the plate if you like • Walks — the minutes you walked • Mood — how you feel, whenever you want to note it • Gym — whether you went, and how many times a week Each one switches on or off separately. If meals are all you care about, meals are all it asks about. ON YOUR SCHEDULE, NOT MINE Choose when reminders start, when they stop and how often they arrive: anywhere from every half hour to every six hours. Too many on a given day? Space them out or switch them off. There's also a "going to sleep" button that silences them until morning. The gym reminder is separate: its own time, its own days of the week and a weekly target. Once you hit the target, the week counts as done and it stops asking. A DAY WITH THE APP The reminder lands mid-morning. You tap "Yes" and type "coffee and toast", or you tap "No" and that's that. Went for a walk? Log the minutes from the same notification. At night you open the app and see the whole day as a list. On Sunday you look at the week and take it in at a glance. BUILT TO BE SHOWN, NOT JUST STORED View your journal by day, week or month, and filter by date range. Whatever you're looking at can be shared exactly as it is, as an image or a PDF, ready to send or print. Every entry type carries a symbol as well as a colour, so it still reads printed in black and white. YOUR DATA IS YOURS, AND IT SHOWS No account, no sign-up, no server. What you write stays on your phone and travels nowhere: the app doesn't even ask for internet permission. And since no cloud is holding anything for you, the app brings its own backup: from Settings you save a file with your whole history and photos wherever you choose, and restore it just as easily on a new phone. ALSO • English and Spanish • Light and dark themes, following your phone or set by you • Any entry can be edited or deleted, and deleting can always be undone • Works offline, always, because it never needs to be online • No ads, no in-app purchases, nothing to unlock WHAT IT DOESN'T DO A notebook with reminders, nothing more. Appetite Chronicles doesn't count calories, doesn't tell you what to eat, doesn't analyse or score what you write and doesn't give advice of any kind. It just remembers to ask, so you don't have to.
