See tonight’s northern lights outlook and get alerts when conditions improve.
Aurora Iceland helps you decide whether it is worth going outside to look for the northern lights tonight. The app combines NOAA space-weather data with Icelandic cloud cover, darkness, and moonlight. It turns those conditions into a simple verdict and explains the main factors behind it. Plan ahead with a seven-night outlook and confidence labels. Explore a map of Iceland, compare current conditions at selected dark-sky locations, and open driving directions to a viewing spot. Optional alerts can wake you when conditions improve near your location. You choose the alert threshold, cloud limit, and quiet hours. The free version includes tonight's verdict, the map, and a practical viewing guide. Aurora Pass adds alerts, the full seven-night outlook, cloud cover on the map, and ranked viewing spots. A 14-day pass is available as a one-time purchase. An annual subscription is also available. The app also includes practical advice for seeing and photographing the lights. Forecasts are updated regularly, but weather and space-weather conditions can change quickly, so a sighting is never guaranteed. Available in English, German, Chinese, and Icelandic.
