About this app
Turn your smartphone into a simpler phone with only the essentials.
My Plain Phone helps turn your smartphone into a simpler, calmer phone. It replaces your home screen with a cleaner, more intentional experience so you can keep only the apps that matter most. When you want even less distraction, enter Plain Mode to reduce your phone to essentials only. My Plain Phone is designed for people who want a lighter phone experience without buying a second device. What you can do with My Plain Phone Use a calm, minimal home screen Choose your essential apps Enter Plain Mode to keep only the essentials visible Use timed sessions for study, sleep, or focused time Reduce visual clutter and impulsive phone use Keep your setup simple with no account required Core features Minimal home screen Essential apps only Plain Mode Timed sessions Optional schedules Exit friction for harder-to-break sessions Optional Strict Mode Private by default No account required Accessibility Service API use My Plain Phone uses the Android Accessibility Service API only for the optional Strict Mode feature. Strict Mode helps keep Plain Mode effective by detecting when a blocked or non-essential app is opened while Plain Mode is active. When this happens, My Plain Phone can redirect you back to the Plain Mode screen or show a blocking screen so you can stay with your selected essential apps. Accessibility access is optional. The basic launcher, essential apps, and Plain Mode can be used without enabling Accessibility access. My Plain Phone does not use Accessibility Service to read or collect messages, passwords, payment details, personal content, or sensitive information from other apps. My Plain Phone does not use Accessibility Service to type on your behalf, send messages, make purchases, record the screen, or change device settings without your action. You can disable Accessibility access at any time in Android Settings. Diagnostics and analytics My Plain Phone uses Firebase Crashlytics to help detect, understand, and fix app crashes. My Plain Phone also uses Firebase Analytics to understand basic app usage, such as app opens, screen views, feature usage, and purchase-related events. This helps improve the app experience. My Plain Phone does not require an account, does not show ads, and does not sell personal data. Who it’s for People who want a simpler phone Students who want fewer distractions Adults who want calmer phone use Families who want a more intentional setup on shared or teen devices Simple by design My Plain Phone is not a social platform, not a productivity dashboard, and not a complicated digital wellbeing suite. It is built to do one thing well: make your phone feel lighter and easier to live with. Private by design My Plain Phone does not require an account. Your Plain Mode settings, selected essential apps, schedules, and preferences are stored locally on your device. Diagnostic and analytics data may be processed through Firebase to help improve reliability, understand app usage, and fix crashes. Subscriptions Some features may require Pro, such as advanced schedules, stricter exits, Strict Mode, and additional Plain Mode controls. If your phone feels too noisy, too tempting, or too full, My Plain Phone helps bring it back to the essentials.
