Turn your phone into a convenient universal TV remote control. Universal TV Remote Control connects to compatible smart TVs and streaming devices over Wi-Fi. If your phone includes a built-in infrared (IR) blaster, you can also control supported televisions and other home entertainment devices using IR. For infrared control, choose your TV brand and use the built-in IR profiles available for compatible models. SMART INPUT Type using your phone and send text to compatible TVs. The touchpad-style control surface provides another convenient way to navigate supported devices. The app uses local-network access only when discovering or controlling devices on your Wi-Fi network. Voice input is activated only when you choose the voice feature and is handled by your selected Android speech-recognition service. Universal TV Remote Control is ad-supported. Core remote-control functions do not require a subscription. Wi-Fi control requires the phone and target device to be connected to the same local network. Infrared control requires a phone with a built-in IR blaster. Available buttons, apps and commands vary by device, TV model and connection method.
