Your daily headlines, with topic filters, listening and printing.

The Brief turns the day's news into one calm newspaper page, built only from the sources you choose.
The Brief is a news aggregator. It shows headlines and the publishers' own summaries, cut to two sentences at most, with the publisher's name and, when given, the publication time. It does not write or rewrite news and does no original reporting.
Your sources
• Websites, through their RSS or Atom feed, or their homepage headlines when there is no feed
• YouTube channels, through their public feed of new videos
• Public Telegram channels, through their public web preview
The Brief reads only public pages. It never signs in to other services or gets around logins or paywalls. How often a source updates is up to that source.
A newspaper front page
Each edition holds 5, 10 or 15 stories (you choose), shared fairly across your sources. Like a printed paper, it has a lead story, sections (Gulf; World & public affairs; Economy & energy; Science & technology; Health & environment; Society & culture; Sport) and a short “In brief” list.
Block topics and mute words
Our own AI models run offline on your device: one sorts stories by topic, one learns from “More / Less like this”, one adds Arabic vowel marks for Listen. Block topics and mute words keep matching stories off your page. Automated filtering can make mistakes: an unwanted story may slip through, a wanted one may be hidden.
Watch terms
Follow names or phrases: matching stories from your sources appear in a “Watching” section near the top. You can also turn on Google News search for a watch term; it is off by default and explained first. When on, the term is sent to Google News; in “By meaning” mode, related words and Arabic/English translations go with it.
Listen and Print (Pro)
• Listen reads your page aloud (headlines, summaries, sources, plus your open tasks unless you turn that off) with a compatible offline voice on your device (Arabic may need a free voice download); Arabic text gets vowel marks first. Keeps playing in other apps, with notification controls. Some speech engines may process text online.
• Print makes an A4 copy of your page on paper or as a PDF
Calendar, to-dos and holidays
• A calendar with to-dos, for dates up to the year 3000
• Fixed public holidays for your region. Islamic holiday dates are estimates; the actual day follows local official announcements.
Themes and languages
• Five themes: Light, Dark, Colour, Sepia and Night
• Arabic and English, with a right-to-left layout in Arabic
Privacy
• No account, no sign-up, no analytics or tracking of our own
• Free edition: an occasional Unity Ads full-screen ad when you leave a page, never on the page itself. Pro removes ads
• Sources, filters, calendar, archive stay on your device
• Auto-delete: pages after 3 days, stories at 4 days, to-dos 3 days after their date
• The Brief connects directly to the sources you add, and to Google News only for watch terms set to search.
• Purchases are handled by Google Play. Its billing library sends Google its own diagnostics.
