About this app
Structured literacy for reading, spelling, and writing with decodable books.
BUILD READING SKILLS STEP BY STEP Reading Mountain helps learners understand how English words work. Inspired by the Orton-Gillingham approach, our structured literacy program teaches sounds, letters, spelling patterns, reading, and writing in a clear, cumulative sequence. It is designed for new readers, older learners strengthening foundational skills, and anyone who benefits from explicit practice. A CLEAR PATH TO LITERACY Lessons introduce one concept at a time, build on what learners already know, and revisit earlier skills. Reading, spelling, and writing are connected throughout the program so each new pattern can be practiced in more than one way. WHAT LEARNERS CAN DO • Read and spell with sound tiles Move tiles to see how spoken sounds connect to letters and how those sounds combine into words. Practice both reading words and building their spellings. • Read sentences with supported feedback Practice reading complete sentences. AI-supported listening helps identify sounds and words that may need more practice, and lesson feedback can be emailed to parents or instructors. • Write on screen or with a keyboard Reinforce each lesson by handwriting directly on the screen or typing complete sentences with the in-app keyboard. • Read truly decodable books Stories use sound patterns and sight words that learners have already been taught. New patterns appear only after instruction, so readers can apply their skills in meaningful text without guessing. • Tap any word for help Explore a word’s sounds, spelling pattern, pronunciation, and supporting visuals whenever extra guidance is useful. • Learn through skill-focused games Games reinforce the reading and spelling skills taught in lessons while keeping practice engaging and low pressure. • Follow a structured lesson map Move from foundational sounds to more advanced patterns with a clear view of the learning path and built-in review. FOR LEARNERS AND FAMILIES Reading Mountain’s focused, age-flexible design works for children, teens, and adults. Parents, homeschool families, tutors, and educators can use the program to support systematic practice. It may be especially helpful for learners who benefit from explicit, structured instruction, including readers with dyslexia or other reading difficulties. Every learner can use Level 1 Lessons 1 and 2 for free. An auto-renewing subscription is required to unlock the remaining lessons and levels. Individual plans support one learner; Family plans support up to four learner profiles, each with separate progress. Monthly and annual options are available. The app and Google Play show the current local price, billing period, and renewal terms before purchase. Subscriptions can be managed or canceled through Google Play.
