Stop charging at 80% (or any limit you choose) to reduce battery wear. Charge Control works on rooted Android phones, and now without root too, by switching a smart plug. Lithium batteries age fastest when they sit at full charge and stay hot. Which features work depends on the charging controls your phone's kernel exposes; charging-speed limits are not available on every device. • Smart plug mode works without root on Android 7.0 and later. It needs a supported plug or a plug you can switch with a web link. Newer Kasa and Tapo plugs that use the KLAP protocol are not supported yet. • Manual control-file setup is for experienced users.
