A calm puzzle journey: fifty floating islands drawn in ink on rice paper.
Each island is a little world you can turn in your hands, drawn as ink on rice paper. Find the way up, and light the great lantern waiting at the top.
Pip is a small traveler in a straw hat, carrying a paper lantern, and every floating island is a puzzle.
How it plays
- Tap the ground and Pip walks there
- Drag to turn the island, pinch to look closer. What you need is often on the side you haven't seen
- Touch the world: stones, magnets, gears, mirrors and bells answer a tap
- No quick fingers needed to clear an island. The answer is an idea, and it clicks when you see it
Fifty islands
- Tides that rise and fall, a lake that is summer one moment and ice the next, snowballs that grow as they roll, a mirror twin who takes every step the other way, an echo of yourself that walks your last steps again
- Puzzles from old games and crafts: a chess board where a pawn becomes a queen, sliding blocks, movable type, folded paper, a bronze mirror, shadow play
- Later islands bring two ideas you already know together in a new way
- A final island at daybreak
More to find
- Three paper cranes hidden on every island
- A red seal on every island for its bonus challenge, such as fewer moves, a race against the clock, or not a scratch
- A small curio on each island for your curio cabinet
Made with care
- Every picture is ink line and wash on paper, with a red sun and misty ridges behind
- Music played on real instruments: zither, psaltery, ocarina and chimes, slow and quiet
- Hints when you want them, a little at a time, so the idea stays yours
- The first eight islands cost nothing; one purchase opens the other forty-two
- No ads and no account. Plays without a connection
- English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional)
- Portrait or landscape, phone or tablet
