Improved compass reliability on Android. Added calibration guidance, support for using the phone at a natural angle, and clearer True North/Magnetic North indicators.
Train your sense of direction with quick true-north drills.
TrueNorth helps you build a real sense of direction. A simple reminder asks which way is north. You point your phone, lock in your guess, and see your error in degrees. With quick daily reps, you can practice your inner compass the same way you would practice any other skill. Use TrueNorth to: - Practice finding true north without peeking at a compass. - See each guess scored by degrees of error. - Track average error, best guesses, streaks, and recent progress. - Group progress by approximate local area. - Practice manually any time, or use local reminders through the day. - Use a live compass for free practice when you want it. Built for direction sense: - Compass training for everyday walks, travel, hiking, and outdoor skills. - True-north heading when location permission is available. - Magnetic-north fallback when the device cannot provide true north. - Clear score, grade, and error feedback after every guess. Privacy-first by default: - No account required. - No ads. - No in-app purchases in this release. - No app backend for training data. - Local notifications only. - Attempts, settings, scores, and approximate local-area progress are stored on your device. - Clear your recorded progress and preferences any time in Settings. TrueNorth is not a turn-by-turn navigation app or route planner. It is a simple trainer for building spatial awareness and learning which way north is.
