Pomodoro timer + real app blocker. Distractions stay locked, even on breaks.
StopIt blocks distracting apps when you need to focus. It includes a Pomodoro-style focus timer (25 minutes on, 5 off, or your own rhythm), and the apps you picked stay locked for the whole cycle, breaks included, so a "quick break" never turns into 30 lost minutes.
StopIt uses the Accessibility API to detect when user-selected distracting apps are opened and to immediately show a blocking screen while a manual lock, timer lock, or routine lock is active. It may also detect uninstall attempts during an active lock to reduce lock bypass. This access is used only for core app-blocking and lock-maintenance features, and is not used for advertising, profiling, selling data, or sharing data with third parties.
StopIt uses Android's VpnService for its website blocking feature. It is a local, device-only VPN that filters DNS lookups: requests for the websites you selected are blocked, and every other lookup passes through unchanged. It runs only while a lock is active and never connects to a remote VPN server. StopIt never shares DNS queries or browsing history, and never sends the names of blocked sites to its developer or any third party. To show in your lock history which of your selected sites were blocked and how often, it keeps that record on your device only, for 30 days, and leaves it out of backups and device transfers. Once a day it sends usage statistics with only count ranges (for example, 1–5 blocked attempts on 1 site), never site names. Traffic from other apps is never intercepted or monetized.
Select the apps that break your concentration, then lock them instantly, by timer, or on recurring routines. Instead of only reminding you, StopIt is built to block access when you actually open the app.
[Best for]
- students who open social apps while studying
- workers who want fewer distractions during deep work
- people who want a routine-based app blocker at night or during work hours
- Pomodoro users whose breaks keep turning into scrolling
[Key features]
- focus timer: 5–120 min focus, custom break length, 2–8 rounds, one tap to start; blocking on breaks is optional (on by default)
- block selected distracting apps
- block websites you choose, not just apps
- start a focus timer lock instantly
- automate blocking with recurring routines
- allow emergency unlock only when truly needed
- review lock history and focus progress

StopIt is designed for practical focus: a timer that actually blocks, routine support, and a safer fallback than all-or-nothing locking.
