Stay connected with older adults through check-ins and alerts
SafeCheck helps families stay connected with an older parent or another loved one through simple check-ins, alerts, reminders, and optional location sharing. SafeCheck works between two connected phones with two roles: **Older Adult** A simple screen with clear actions and no complicated menus. The Older Adult can send “I’m OK”, “Call me”, or “I’m here”, respond to reminders, and approve location requests from the Caregiver. **Caregiver** The Caregiver can receive alerts, view recent updates in the dashboard, request a fresh status, request location sharing, and manage supported reminder settings after the two phones are paired. **How to connect SafeCheck** 1. Install SafeCheck on both phones. 2. On one phone, choose **I am the caregiver**. 3. Tap **Generate code** to create a pairing code and QR code. 4. On the second phone, choose **I am the older adult**. 5. Enter the pairing code or scan the QR code. 6. After pairing, the Caregiver can open the dashboard and the Older Adult keeps the simple check-in screen. Once the phones are connected, SafeCheck sends supported updates between the paired devices. **How it works** • **I’m OK** — confirms that everything is okay. • **Call me** — lets the Caregiver know that a call is wanted. • **I’m here** — shares the Older Adult’s current location with the paired Caregiver. • Reminders can be answered with **Done** or **Remind me later**. • If a scheduled check-in receives no response, the Caregiver can be notified. • The Caregiver can request a fresh status update from the paired phone. • The Caregiver can request location. The location is shared only after the Older Adult approves the request. **Key features** **Simple check-ins** The Older Adult can quickly send an update without navigating complicated screens. **Caregiver dashboard** The Caregiver can see recent responses, phone status, reminder activity, battery information, and other supported updates from the paired device. **Status alerts** The Caregiver can receive alerts for “I’m OK”, “Call me”, “I’m here”, reminder activity, no-response events, and low battery. **Helpful reminders** SafeCheck can show clear full-screen reminders for daily check-ins and other helpful tasks. The Older Adult can respond directly from the reminder. **Optional location sharing** SafeCheck does not continuously track location. Location can be shared when the Older Adult taps “I’m here” or approves a location request from the Caregiver. **Remote reminder settings** After pairing, the Caregiver can help manage supported reminder settings on the Older Adult’s device. **Low battery alerts** The Caregiver can be notified when the paired phone battery is low. **Easy pairing** Connect two phones using a pairing code or QR code. **Who SafeCheck is for** • Families who want simple check-ins with an older parent or loved one • Older adults who prefer a clear and simple interface • Caregivers who want status updates and useful alerts • Families who use reminders and no-response alerts • People who want optional location sharing without continuous tracking **Important** SafeCheck does not make emergency calls automatically. If there is an emergency, contact local emergency services immediately. Location sharing is optional. Location is shared only when the Older Adult chooses to share it or approves a request from the paired Caregiver. SafeCheck does not provide continuous background location tracking.
