About this app
Block distracting apps. Earn screen time with study questions and challenges.
Delay helps you pause before opening distracting apps and turn screen time into a reason to learn. Choose the apps you want to block, then complete a challenge to earn time back. EARN YOUR SCREEN TIME Unlock selected apps with study questions, math, chess puzzles, and other short challenges. When your earned time ends, Delay blocks those apps again. STUDY BEFORE YOU SCROLL Build study sets around the topics you want to learn. For ages 13 and older, generate questions with AI, attach relevant source files, or import study material from supported Quizlet and Anki formats. Practice as part of your everyday routine. MAKE YOUR OWN FOCUS RULES Organize apps into block groups, choose challenges and unlock durations, and schedule lockout periods. Optional password protection lets a trusted person help you protect your settings. SEE YOUR PROGRESS Review blocked app-opening attempts and challenge activity to understand your habits over time. ACCESSIBILITY FOR APP BLOCKING Delay uses the AccessibilityService API to detect the foreground app, including while Delay is in the background, and redirect apps you selected to a challenge or lockout screen according to your rules. This access is optional and used for app blocking and on-device activity history. App names and app-opening records stay on your device; Delay does not send them to its servers or other companies. Delay does not read messages, passwords, or screen content. You choose whether to grant access after a separate disclosure. You can decline and continue without app blocking, disable access in Android Settings, or uninstall Delay at any time. Delay is not a disability accessibility tool. ON-DEVICE MODE FOR CHILDREN Delay asks for an age group before starting online services. Under-13 users get free on-device study and blocking: manually create multiple-choice questions and app groups, with no Google sign-in, subscriptions, cloud AI, uploads, sharing, or analytics. A parent or guardian can help with setup. This mode works offline, and its data is excluded from Android backup and device transfer. TRIAL AND SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR AGES 13 AND OLDER Sign in with Google to start a seven-day complimentary trial. No payment method is required for this trial. Continued access requires a subscription. Available plans and local prices are shown in the app before purchase. Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through Google Play.
